I am new to DA polishing. I think I have to do it because I have inured my arm-no lie- so hand polishing is out.

What is your best recommendation for the most idiot proof procedure to paint correct and then polish?

I have heard some say that the new microfiber pads are best/safest and only require two steps, a correction and a polish to achieve good results. (And I assume a paint protection after that)

    Welcome to Detailing Bliss!!

Yes, 2 steps is really all that is needed to product excellent results as long as you are working by machine! :) Meg's Microfiber pads work superb for correction and are highly recommended by most. Just concentrate on keeping them clean by either using a stiff brush or with compressed air. The cleaner they stay, the better correction you will get and the better finish will be achieved. Then, either black or blue 5 inch flat foam pads (Buff & Shine) will finish things off to perfection.

I like several different products to get things done:
HD CUT, M100 & D300 for easy to use compounds.
HD Polish, M205 & Menzerna SF4000 for final polishes

    thanks so much.
but, who's black or blue. I am still trying to figure all t his out but it seems that each mfr has a different color code for their pads. I guess I could take anyone's final finishing extra soft foam buff pad? So far I have seen "final pads" in green, black and white and I am sure their are others.

I think that you need to post pictures of the paint. M105 and m205 are super polishes. 205 is really easy polish to use. I also have good success with the menzerna line.

As far as a first time DA user. It takes time to get the hang of it. Don't tackle the whole car Ina day. It will be a very long day.

Once you get used to it the process speeds up quite a bit.

I would join a free picture hosting site like Photobucket.com

You basically upload the pics from your computer to their site. You can group them how you wish in sub-groups of whatever. Then, you basically copy and past each of the picture's link to the forum. It posts automatically for you.
