topping with a less 'expensive' product

I've been wondering with spray waxes and QD's that have protective products in them is it crazy to top a high dollar wax finish with a $10-15 spray?

I hadn't thought much about it but I recently got a hold of a small amount of Raceglaze Black Label and after washing the car thought about spraying it either with Pinnacle Crystal Mist or Black Fire Gloss enhancing spray and then it hit me that it seemed crazy to put a layer of either of those on top of a wax that is not only expensive but really looks amazing by itself.

I guess either spray wouldn't last that long and should only help extend the life of the wax by however long the spray lasts so it isn't like I'm permanently covering up the underlying LSP but it still seemed odd to me. Wouldn't they have some long term affect on the appearance?

So what do you do when you have a higher dollar LSP on? Leave it be or mess with it? Stick with spray ons from the same line?

I'd use Victoria Wax QD over top of the BL. It works well and is meant to top nubas. :)

how do you like the ease of use of blacklabel btw?

It is really nice. Since I have such a small amount of it and really won't be able to get a full container I put it on super thin and it went a long ways and wiped off really easily.

I really like the finish on it. Prior to the blacklabel I've had Chaos, Souveran, glasur, bfwd & ms, and wet obsession on it. And this is easily the best combination of wet, deep and gloss for the appearance. I'd take pictures but my pictures almost always turn out looking terrible.
I know waxes are often referred to as muting or making the flake pop but after going through all the prior stuff as soon as I put the BL on the car my wife actually commented on the sparkle to the paint. It is a darkish gray with a hint of green metallic paint.
It is nice that I've finally gotten to where I can prep a finish well enough that the LSP isn't for filling it just gives the finish its finally appearance.

I really enjoy it as well. If you get it on thin, it does come off easy. I have found it to mute flake a bit, but nowhere near as bad as some nubas. I tend to use it strictly on solids.

ahh, so far all I've used on this car are nubas so that would make sense on the flake. Guess I don't want the flake to pop any more than it is now though. When I was finishing cleaning it up this morning I though the side of the car had dust on it but it was just the way the flake looked from an extreme angle.

I really like the stuff but I'd either have to start doing some other people's cars or decide that it is going to be the last product I buy in order to justify buying it.
