Alright well, my friend is getting his car tinted and refuses to have the light legal tint:doh: (35% in washington), and is planning to get 20%. Atleast he doesn't want 5% all around right :shead:. Does anyone have any experience driving with 20% tint all around at night? If you do have 20% tint, do you get much trouble from the local police?

Thanks in advance for the input. :thumb:

i have 20%s. always drive with the front windows down in cop infested areas. its not that bad at night, i drove 5% all around and 20%s in the front, now THAT was bad...

My dad's Z has 10% and it is horrible at night, I have 35% on my truck which is the legal limit here in MD but my dad's TL has 20% and I wish I had that instead of the 35%

35% limit on rear windows too? I have my Acura tinted with 5% rear windows, and 30% front windows. And yes, if I see a cop, I lower my windows.

It is 35% for every window in Maryland except for the rear windows of trucks can be as dark as you want.

I have 30% all around on my car (in Seattle) and have no issues with cops or driving at night.

I believe it's 35% all around here, which is kinda ridiculous IMO

I had 20% on my Vic.... got busted by the police...

That being said I didn't have any problems driving with it...

I had 20 also on the Acura..got busted, but before that would try and drive with the sunroof open to help with the light within the car..it helped, but that day I had just forgotten..it just sucks peeling all that tint off the car...its a PIA!!

Do you guys think learning how to tint windows would be a useful addition to a detailer's business offerings?

$250-300 to tint a vehicle always seems like an awful lot of money. Makes me think maybe it's an opportunity...?

sure is an opportunity, but it is one of those things that have a lot of variables. To me, I would steer clear of it and have a good tint guy on call that you can include in your detail. Farm the work out to someone and jack up the price a bit when including it with your detail.
