Looks like Im going to join the Club!

Thanks to Grouse for answering all my questions about this unit. Man, Kleen Car needs to write Grouse a commission check! :applause2:

Does anyone else have any comments on the steamer?

I have the Vapor Master and just jumped on TK site. I started to cringe when he was using the dirty MF on the doorjambs and the clincher was the brush technique followed on the wheels leading to the face brush 1st on the wheel well and then to back down to the wheel myself.

Maybe that's why my car washes are generally 1 hr to 1.5 hrs each time.....

In all serious though, it looks like one bad a$$ steamer. I have not used my VM on the car yet but have used it for various things around the house. And with extended use, I do see a drop in pressure as opposed to constant pressure. Can't comment on temp though....

Maybe I need to do some more thorough scientific testing...

Gah it's a darn good steamer. Go try and get training for it to understand it's full potential. Oh ya, throw away all your chemicals. This reduces the need altogether.

so after reading the specs, per Grouse quote ~At full steam it will hold 300* at 100psi for over 40 min~

With the interior house cleaning on the tiles, I like to run it at full blast. Not with the flooring - completely opposite. On my Vapor Master ...even the low is too much steam. However, on full blast, I did a test today as I knew the pressure always dropped.

My unit heats up to 4 bars.
At full blast, at around 25-30 seconds, it will drop down to 2 bars. If I stop steaming and let the boiler run a shot bit, the recovery is back at 4 bar.

So with that said.....100 PSI equals 6.895 bars. That is some freakin outstanding specs....I may just have to give Kleen Car a call tomorrow.

Thank you for sharing that with us chefwong, I knew the steamer had some serious power but your post confirmed it again :peace:

Do you have a steamer ?

What I would like to know....and this may be a pro/con of a powerful steamer, is how finite - or low the steam is at low pressure ?

IE, I use the steamer on my wood floors. I find that the low setting on mine is too much steam. However, I have not tried using 2 microfibers over the head.

I can see where the applicability of the constant pressure is wanted. I think for car interiors though, I would prefer a unit that has a constant steam at constant heat with a much lower pressure.

Wish these steamers had a variable nozzle from 1-6 like a rotary ;_)

    Smith2287 Welcome to Detailing

I'm sorry but I am not familiar with steamers usage in a detail. Can someone please explain the benefits of having a steam cleaner for a detail.

Does anyone know if the Therma Kleen comes automatically on a cart? Or can you have the unit and attachments alone, easier to carry around with trunks.

Correction as I called TK direct today.

The unit will run at full blast at 100 psi for 3-4 minutes.
If you turn it off, just give it time to recover.

So it's similar in respect that while it's not 40 minutes of constant 6.8 bars, it's still a HUGE # in regards to PSI at full blast for 3-4 minutes as opposed to my prior posting re: full blast/pressure/time before it drops with my vapor master. My VM heats up to 4 bars, but drops down to 2 bars at around the 25-30 second mark. It does recover fairly quick.

For interior use (in which I see myself using the steamer more than exterior), FWIW, I find that even at the low setting , it's more pressure than I would like.

Good luck with your purchase Fminus. I'm sure you will love it !

I am waiting for your nightmare to end first before I dive into the muddy Vapor Chief waters. When I used the machine I thought it was great, but apperently you are not suppose to find out how great of a machine it is. LOL

Nah I just got back from working with Thomas (Tdekany) on a 2005 Black BMW 325. So it has been a pretty long day. I will map it tomorrow.

Dang bro, I thought you were back strong. Well I guess you will have to trade good information with me in another way then. Oh I looked at the speedstream. After reding the specs with the lower end model, it is $8000, but the PSI and Steam temp is the smae or not as good as ther vapor chief.

Nica, can you please let the "trouble-maker (V.I.P.E.R)" back in please. It is something that goes back to his childhood, he craves alot of attention. :) I think that he is trying to seek help. If you have to punish him, then please just give hime a short "time-out" Thanks NICA for whatever you can do.
