Well as some of you may know I got into an accident over the winter and my car got totaled, not my fault. I'm getting around 9k and I plan on making some payments on the car still. I'm looking to pay around 15kish. I'm looking for a well balanced car, leather etc and a little bit of performance as well. Any suggestions?

I'm biased but maybe a Subaru legacy, outback or impreza depending on your needs.
Great for winter, AWD, reliable, balanced and safe and decent performance depending on the model.
Does not have the catchet of some other brands but its great if you want a sleeper car.

Acura TL, 2004 and up... Very well balanced, performs well, not expensive to maintain. Always comes with leather, and sunroof, HID xenon headlights, LED tailights (all my cars gotta have it), navigation is optional though. Very reliable, I actually see TLs even more reliable then RLs.
You might consider some other cars too, but be sure TL is on that list...

and yes, I'm a big Japanese car fan...German cars are nice too, but not for a daily driver...at least not for me...

I am in the same situation as you except I'm graduating college but still looking at cars around 15K. My dad has an 06 TL he wants to sell me and I am seriously considering it, its a great car, great performance, classy, and the interior is just phenomenal. The payments to him are a little high but it beats being in debt to a bank. Although I kinda want to build credit and get what I want.

    My suggestions:

Acura TL, Volvo S40 T series, Subaru Legacy GT, 05 3 Series, Lexus IS300

there are more on my mind but its early and I'm brain dead right now.

Be careful with Audi A4s prior to 2002ish, I know a few people that have had some pretty awful electronic issues with their cars.

What about a used Chryslter 300? I have seen them in the high teens, but maybe you could get them down to 15?? I like those

A4=premium fuel requirement, $100 oil changes etc..nice cars though. i love German cars but the TL is a good option if you find one in that price range without toooo many miles.

2006 GTI would fit in that budget. the higher end package has heated leather, nice interior and good performance. However, the lows are similar to the A4.

I'm an Acura man too, but I'd suggest taking a look at the TSX (beautiful car, totally hassle free, runs forever).

Others in your range would be: Mazda 3 (fun, peppy car), VW Pasaat (diesel if you can find one), or the ever-reliable Accord. :afro:

Mazda Speed6. Those are FI from the factory. Add a custom tune to adjust the boost, and you got yourself a quick little sleeper.

Of course, I am speaking from the perspective of needing 4 doors.

You'd need to find a good deal on one though... an 07 books for like 20 I believe.

I hear insurance on MazdaSpeed 6's is insane, a buddy of mine pays nearly $3600 a year, not worth it at that point.

Like someone said Acura is great both the TL and TSX, I drove a TSX a few days ago and really enjoyed it, only thing I didn't like was that it just felt like an Accord which isn't a bad thing but you expect more if it is an Acura. I mean that in the performance aspect. Was still spunky though.
