2012 S6/S6 Avant comes with a 4.0 liter TFSI unit producing 420 PS (309 kW / 414 bhp) and 550 Nm (405.66 lb-ft) of torque Audi has introduced the new 2012 S6 and S6 Avant models ahead of their public debut at the Frankfurt motor show in two weeks. Powered by a twin-turbo 4.0 liter TFSI V8 the S6/S6 Avant comes with 420 PS (309 kW / 414 bhp) and 550 Nm (405.66 lb-ft) of constant torque between 1,400 and 5,300 rpm coupled to a 7-speed S-tronic transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint comes in at 4.8 seconds while top speed is an electronically-governed 250 km/h (155 mph). Average fuel economy on the (quattro) all-wheel drive S6 is 9.7 liters/100 km while just slightly more for the S6 Avant - 9.8 liters/100 km. That consumption figure is achieved through the use of energy recuperation, a stop-start system as well as a cylinder management system that shuts down four of the cylinders under partial load. The chassis gets an air suspension with variable damping up to 10 mm while 19-inch wheels are standard with options on a range of 19- and 20-inch rim/tire combinations. The interior comes with a leather sport steering wheel and paddle shifters in brushed aluminum. A finish in Pearl Nappa leather and Alcantara comes standard with finer leathers available as options. I'm really a fan of the way AUDI is going with their styling. BOTH inside and out. This just makes me wonder though. For a 4 liter V8 with Twin TURBOS. You think they'd be able to make a little more horsepower than that!
I drove the new A6 last week. Very nice car. It had a great interior, heads up display for speedo and flir which I thought was sick. Very nice car. Since it is brand new the leasing programs were poor. Great car that I liked more than I expected. The S and RS will not doubt be even more and more!
no plans on this one. I'm extremely happy with what I currently have....an RS3 though ...or RS4 wagon hmmmmm
the a8 has had the pop up nav screen for quite some time, i suppose its about time audi puts it into the rest fo the lineup....i think its makes much simpler/cleaner interior lines when it it shut
I personally did not like the screen in the up position. I felt that it got in the way and was distracting. I did like the car, and it would not have kept me from buying it if the price was right. I did not prefer it and would opt for a in dash mounted screen. Also, to my surprise the screen was not a touch screen? My Infiniti from 2008 had 3 modes of entry verbal, touch screen and joy stick.
an RS3 would be sweet, at least Audi is going to bring the TT RS here. twin turbo V8...I wonder what an ecu flash could bring the power to...
