Ok ive been discussing this with others on other forums, i need recommendations on Microfiber Cloths that are very good quality, very paint friendly and dont cost an arm and a leg. (That means you Phil, chime in lol) Ive heard good things about Uber microfibers, Chemical Guys has a 16x16 yellow MF in a 12 pack for 18 bucks which is decent and so are the reviews. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.
Use the cheaper towels for all aspects of detailing if you wish, but spend a bit more on towels that will touch your paint. Its cheap insurance. I recently got in some 16x24 Pakshak Ultrafine towels. They so soft and I have used them on two black BMWs and two black corvettes in the last month without issue. We're not talking and extra $5 a towel, but even if they were, they'd be worth it.
The ultra fine are impressive. I mean really really impressive. Try some PakShak Ultra Plush also. Poorboys DMT towels are also so great towels, along with the Ultra Mega Towels they sell. Phil's super plush drying towel is a beast. Just wash it before using.
I think any towel that someone on here suggests is going to be fine to use when it's new, the issues arise when the towels get product in them and it's time to wash them. For this reason cheaper towels will not last as long through washes and therefore end up costing more in the long run if you want to reuse them. Invest $100 in a good set from Phil @DD they'll perform perfectly and last a year with MF restorer
Poorboys DMT towels have been my go to towel for years!!! Pak Shak Fire on Ice towels are very nice and are gaining on the DMTs for me.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, ill probably keep the good towels that i have now for paint ,make the rest of them interior and other stuff, then order some good ones from phil.
These are some of the towels I currently use: Costco yellow towels...glass and interior, less than $0.50 a piece http://www.detailing.com/store/proseries-460gsm-super-plush-microfiber-towel-16-x-16-grey.html http://www.detailing.com/store/pros...i-low-pile-microfiber-towel-16-x-16-blue.html http://www.detailing.com/store/proseries-300gsm-microfiber-towel-16-x-16-black.html http://www.amazon.com/Eurow-Microfi...0S70/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1336924880&sr=8-3
For stuff such as leather cleaning, exhaust, and grunge work I use MF's from Sam's club. By far the cheapest and actually pretty decent quality. $12 for 24 of them. They're branded Proforce btw. Also, you can get a nice pack of bottles/sprayers, including 1 foaming sprayer. $6 for 6 bottles/sprayers. The bottles and sprayers are surprisingly high quality.
That's where I get some towels and sprayers from considering I work at Sams Club. Just a tip tho, don't put anything acidic in the sprayers as they aren't chemical resistant.
I believe this is the towel that vendors charge $$$ for. If you sign up for a wholesale account, you get an even bigger discount at $26 for 10 towels. Use code "news5" for 5% off of that. http://www.microfibertech.com/16x16...Microfiber-Towels--Blue-pack-of-10_p_135.html
I actually really like the CG Fluffers but recently have been using the Purple 16x16 plush towels from Autoality.
