Just like the title states, what do you think the effect would be if i got some overspray on my brake rotors while trying to spray tarminator in the back of my wheels? It says keep it away from bare metal, which im pretty sure my rotors are. How could i avoid any damage? Would sponging it on be a better option? Thanks
I would think that it would all get swept away the first time you hit the breaks, just like the surface rust that pops up after washing or after a rain.
I am not familiar with tarminator but I can tell you some of the heavy sodium hydroxide based cleaners can cause some issues on rotors/calipers with prolonged exposure. I have seen wheels seize from rust completely after being cleaned (Toyota's every time). Is that a petroleum based product? I am assuming it is a solvent so I would just be sure to rinse the over spray off when you are done and be sure to use the brakes.
Like said above, be careful with this product. It can cause issues with your brake system. If I need to use a product like this, I always put it in a metal cup and wipe it on with a brush and let it dwell. After using the metal cup for a while, youll see why its not a good idea to just spray this on the metal bits. YMMV...
