Well I finally had the chance to see what Supernatural would look like on black. I had this Pontiac Torrent due for a detail and the owner wanted Supernatural. This car belonged to his wife and although it really needed some paint correction he wasn't willing to do it as he said the car sits outside 24/7 and wouldn't stay perfect. The idea was to have me make it look as good as I could. I came up with a plan of action and went to it. Here's what I did: Tires/Wheels: The wheels got Majestic Solutions Wheel Brite first. The back of the barrels were cleaned with my OrngeZ wheel stick. I used the Swissvax wheel brush on the face and a Black Magic wheel brush bent at a 90 degree angle to get behind the spokes. The tires got MS Super Green Stuff @2:1 and the wells got CGs Grime Reaper @ 4:1. Tires and wells were scrubbed with a black shmitt as well. The wells were dressed with CGs Bare Bones. And the tires were dressed first with MS Super Dress All as a base with a tire applicator from Chemical Guys. Then the tires were dressed with Optimum's new Tire Gel. This was applied with another CGs tire applicator. I am completely sold on the Optimum Tire Gel and it has become a go to product. Engine: Got the old faithful, rinse, spray with MS SGS, agitate, rinse, dry with leaf blower, dressed with Stoners Trim Shine. Wash: Wash: I used my CR Spotless System and this was the 12th car with it and my TDS meter is still reading 000 ppms. The last 6 cars I have done the entire detail with the CR. I'm telling you if you don't have one of these then you need to call Phil at DD and get one! I assure you, that you won't regret it. I let this one air dry as well during which time I cleaned up and got ready for polishing. Not one single water spot when this black car air dried. I used my foam cannon with a strong solution of CGs Wash and Gloss. Bugs got MS Bug Off and a MS Safe Scrub. Car was dried by Mother Nature with wind and sun! Clay: Clayed with the good stuff and DP 4n1 clay lube via a handheld pressurized sprayer like you get at Lowes. Glass: Glass inside and out got CGs Glass Cleaner applied with a Black Magic Glass Towel (Thanks Tonya, gotta love that big box!:headbang and dried off with a Walmart WW. The windshield was then treated with a layer of DG AW and buffed off with a WW. Interior: The interior got a good vacuum with my new Shop Vac that gmblack3 posted about. All vinyl and plastic got 1z Cockpit Premium. Man I do love the 1z CP. The seats were cloth so they were extracted using CGs Total Interior Cleaner. Door jambs got CGs ONE and buffed off with a CGs el Gordo MF. Paint: I decided for my favorite paint cleaner. First up was DG 501 with the Flex on speed 3.5 and a white Sonus 6" pad. It was buffed off with a CGs black and yellow MF. Next up was CGs EZ Creme applied with a black 4" LC CCS pad on a Polishing Pal. It was buffed off with a CGs black and yellow MF. The paint was looking really good now and I wanted more. Protection: I went with CGs Jetseal. I applied it with a 4" blue LC CCS pad on a Polishing Pal. It was buffed off with a CGs Edgeless MF. LSP: Now it was time to put on Dodo Supernatural. I was finally going to have it on a dark color and be able to get a real comparison to my favorite wax Rubbish Boys OE. Well Supernatural looked incredibly good but I can't bring my self to say that it looks better than Rubbish Boys OE. It probably looks as good as RB but it is easier to work with. I scraped a little bit into the center of the tub, and I put Supernatural on like I do all nubas these days. I used a 4" red LC CCS applicator via the polishing pal. I pre-heated the pad with a hair dryer as it seems to give the effect of warming nuba by hand when applying it bare handed. I also love that the supernatural container is wider and gives easy access to a 4" pad. That was a major plus! It went on very easy and came off just as easy. I applied it to the entire car and then went back and buffed it off with a CGs edgeless MF. After about an hour I went back and wiped it down with a Cookie Monster and Clearkote QuickShine QD. The owner came to pick it up and was ecstatic. He just kept saying "Man it looks like glass!" Well here are the pics. Before and Afters: Some random reflection shots:
Yet another great detail by wolf :applause: car looks great my friend :thumb: Thank you for sharing with us eace:
Very nice JL! Love supernatural myself. I got the same look on a black car I used it on, also on my red bora. The car came out great, as always!
I tell you what! Your work is Supernatural......Outstanding:applause:....Sweet camera work too...:thumb:
Seriously, one of your BEST to date!!! For no paint correction, it looks FANTASTIC!!! Must get me some of that 501... The more and more I read about it, the better that CR system sounds. Cannot believe it dried with NO spots, and it's black!
Supernatural is a tremendous wax and its very easy to work with. Probably the easiest high end wax I've used. I do need to do that to see if I can tell a difference. I'm telling you those two waxes are my favorites! When I saw the black and how deep it was I knew you were going to like it. Make the call, Ben will hook you up! You really should try it out because it works incredibly. I've used it twice and both owners loved the look it gave. One dark color and one light colored car, so it looks great on both. TWSS! :headbang: Thanks Nica and thanks for providing the place to share it with!:thumb: pirex after I saw your work with Supernatural I couldn't wait to use mine, but had promised the owner of the Porsche that her car would be the very first to get it so waiting was killing me. You see I only waited a few days before I used it again! Thanks bro!:headbang: Thanks and glad to see another one from Norway here. You've got you a killer connection for detailing there in Norway!:thumb: Thanks :headbang: Thanks I tried hard to get a good look to it without paint correction. Thanks Sparkie! You know as good as I do that 501 can do some serious paint cleaning! Thanks Piet! I actually talked them out of paint correction because I knew it wouldn't stay that way and would be a waste of their money. I told them I thought even without paint correction I could make it look better than 95% of the cars out there on the road. So that was my goal. And yes the CR is the real deal ... no spots whatsoever on black, you gotta love that! Just call Phil at DD and he can hook you up mate! Thanks :headbang:
Man what a nice glow.. I can only imagine what it would have looked like corrected!! After using my supernatural today I am sold.. it is a greeat wax!! Nice job man!
