Static charged microfiber! Any way to fix it?

So I did my normal routine, wash towels separately, delicate, and with a "free" detergent that has no softeners or dyes or anything. Because it is like 40 degrees here in NY, I can't hang them outside to dry like I normally do so I decided, why not throw them in the dryer on delicate. I've done it plenty of times before with no ill effect. Well this time, they got a strong static charge... and I mean strong. Is there any easy method to remove the charge? I probably can just wash them again but it is a real PIA to go back to the laundromat on a weekend. :rant:

 

Take them out of the dryer and set them aside...they will discharge over time.

 

Alright sounds easy enough to me.

 

Dont dry them on heat, or just lay them out and air dry.........
