    Hi,

Starting out doing some detailing on my new pride and joy. If I like it I may try turn it into a career. I don't think there are too many detailers in Norway.

I've been looking into what basics I need to get going and give my car a good going over, I like to invest in quality products, but I don't want to buy LOADS of stuff yet and I don't need the very best, just good stuff.

For a mitt, I've already bought the Microfibre Noodle WASH MITT Hyper Absorbent KENT 2 in 1, but everything else, I still need to get.

I think I do want to get a carnauba wax, for its hardness and beading, and I am reading good things about Red Mist to use on top of the wax...

I think microfibre waffle weave towels might be a good idea, and a clay...

But what else do I need? And what brand names should I seek out for the above?

Any help much appreciated...if you're ever in Norway let me know!

You need to contact Ketil ScandicShine. He's got everything you need.

Think what Ken was saying is that Ketil in Norway has everything you will ever need for detailing and more. He is a great guy and can help you fig out everything you need and may be close buy.

How much $$$ you willing to spend?

Basic list would be good good MF for polish and wax removal, MF for drying car and some for the inside and junk ones for wheels and such. Budget will help with what wax, I would say get SV Insignis, great wax but is some decent money. Once you let us know a budget maybe I cna help ya out but would give Ketil a call and see if he is close buy or check out his webpage. He is a sponsor of the site.

Thanks! I've taken a look at Ketil's site, and it looks great, just pricey :(

    Would you recommend this?

That is a nice package, I would see if you can get it from autogeek for better shipping rate. I dont know how the conversion rate is between US and Norway so I cant comment on Ketil's prices but found them fair when I was shopping around. I would see if he cant give you a deal. Klasse is a great sealant and will give you a pretty long protection window, Souveran is a nice wax but limited durability so more of a looking wax. But no worries when you put it on top of Klasse as you have the durability of the sealant and the looks of the wax.

No, but when it's 250% of the US price one does begin to feel a little sad, though I realise this is largely due to Norwegian taxes.
