Hi everyone, I thought I would post some pictures after the spring detail on my E92 M3. The car is Jerez Black (black with a blue metallic flake) and is only 2 weeks old. I don't have before pictures (sorry) as it has been basically raining since I took delivery of the car. I made sure the dealer did NOT prep the car for me on delivery. Even with that, there was some swirling and a few areas where the finish looked very dull and matte. I was very excited to try CQuartz on this car and am VERY happy with not only the result but the ease of application... probably one of the easiest sealants I have ever used (subject to very carefully following instructions and reading the Cquartz threads... thanks Richy for all the comments and help there). Process... - Wash (TBM) with Chemical Guys Maxi Suds II - P21S TAW as needed - CQuartz IronX... spray on dwell... agitate lightly - Claybar (Riccardo Blue) with FK425 as the lubricant - Rewash the car - Polish with Menzerna Power Finish and a combo of 4" orange and white pads on my PC - Menzerna Top Inpection after each panel - 90/10 Isopropyl/Dawn wipedown - Wash with Dawn to a very squeeky clean in preparation for CQuartz - First coat of CQuartz (used cotton pads from Shoppers Drug Mart which were much better than the supplied pads) - Next morning... second coat of CQuartz - Will apply Reload next weekend - For the wheels, removed them from the car and applied Powerlock to one side and CQuartz to the other... let's see how it holds up. - Duragloss 253 Tire Dressing (by far my favourite) The paint was flawless before CQuartz application and it really brought out the gloss in the paint. I can't say enough about how happy I am with CQuartz... it will be VERY interesting to see how durable it is. Pictures...
Quick update on the CQuartz. It rained today (poured actually) and I drove to and from work. I pull into my garage and the car is.... CLEAN :applause2: It is like the car was washing itself while I was driving in the rain. Beading is great but I can't get over how well the car "cleaned" itself... I think I love CQuartz :worship2:
Thats pretty awesome about the update you just provided. Do you plan or have you applied a film to the front of the car? I would hate to get some chips in the beautiful paint. Can you snap a picture of the cotton pads that you liked so much for application of the Cquartz.
I'll takes some pictures of the pads and yes, plan to get a 3M film for the front. Hoping to get it installed next week.
Here are the cotton pads I used... they are very soft and held up well. Bought them at Shoppers Drug Mart. It kind of felt funny asking for makeup pads
