    Guys,

I finally scheduled my first car here in VA. It's a Chrysler 300 that is in decent shape. He doesn't want a full correction package, but wants me to take care of three medium-sized scratches. I have a few concerns about this request ...

Do you guys usually polish the entire panel (or a large area) where the scratch is located so the repair blends in a little better with the non-polished paint? I'm planning on doing a pass with 2000 grit and then finishing it up with a 3000 grit.

I have done a couple of wet-sanding repairs on soft clear ... any advice for Chrysler hard clear?

I would appreciate if someone knows about a good wet sanding tutorial that i can review before doing this vehicle.

I'll post pics of the detail in a few weeks.

    Thanks,
    G

Considering this van was probably swirled to begin with, either polish out or wetsand then polish out the scratches then you can just leave it perfectly swirl free.. That way its a rolling advertisement. Or heck ask him if you can just polish the panel(to stay within your requested work) and go..

I wouldn't polish the whole panel, just the surrounding foot or so. For the wet sanding make sure your passes are like this /first pass then \ next pass and so on. Kind of hard to explain but a criss cross pattern. Do not go up and down or side to side, you want to do like an x pattern. Make sure you have a backing pad for the sanding paper, you want even pressure so do not just use your hand. Do you have a Paint Gauge?
