hello folks, i won this in the detail of the month contest back in december. used it for the first time today. i am not a fan of nubas only because i seem to always get hazing and sweating but i love the relaxation applying one gives. i own petes 53 (my fav) bfms, p21s, 845, adams butter wax, meg 26 and a few others so i will compare it to them. application is buttery smooth it is fairly hard in the pot but seems to liquify as soon as the applicator touches it. it does not clump up on the pad like petes 53 does or require the multiple passes on the car that bfms needs to spread even. removal ...i let it sit 5-15 minutes it was about 90 degrees and i would say 75% humidity and it never hazed up as a regular nuba would but it did change from like a oily kind of haze to a more solid color but not a haze really. wipes up as easy as mpl .... just as a test i left a spot for about 6 hours and it wiped off just as easy as the rest did. my only issue with removal was in areas that i applied it to thick or it did not dry it left small oily streaks but they wiped up with super easy with a 2nd or third swipe. looks ....well i have no pictures. this was a daytona blue 350z i had done a full detail on about 3 months ago. the owner used a cali car duster on it and made some light swirls. so i used some m205 and a white pad and went over the car gave it a dawn zep bath and applied mpl to the car . it had bfwd and bfms on it last time but the roof hood and trunk where barely beading today so i figured i would try mpl. well the owner came to pick the car up late so i figured i would play with it some. anyway honestly the look was way better then the blackfiire combo. the blackfire was deep and glossy and looked great but this was like turning the volume to 11 ..hard to describe but on the curvy fenders of the car it looked liquid...in the dripping shimmering way ...thats the best way i can describe it. the way a drop of water dances on your finger is the way the paint looked ...it was crazy ....could someone who didnt know detailing have seen a difference i fully think so ...could the camera pick up the difference ...i dont think so ...but it was truly that much better then what was on the car before. this color kind of flip flops between electric blue and a greenish blue..well it made the difference in the shades seem bigger anyone who says they cant see the difference in waxes should try this stuff i will contact the owner in a few weeks to see how the longevity is...but im super super pleased with it. mater of fact im going to get up early and strip the petes53 on my truck and try this...the trucks white so i dont expect to see much difference but we will see
Yeah I won this stuff also, and just now got around to applying it. I have to say, I was super impressed with it to. I really had started losing interest in Nubas lately, because the sealants are just so easy to apply and look pretty damn good. But I figured I'd try the Sonax since it had been sitting on my shelf for a while and since it's summer the car isn't being abused as hard. Anyways, I am extremely happy with how wet the look is with this stuff. At first it threw me off with how solid the wax is in the container, but like you said it transfers onto your applicator really evenly. Only problem I had, was getting it even, but this can be difficult with any paste wax. Next time I'll probably apply with a DA to get it nice and even. I'll report back in a few months on the durability.
Sonax in Europe is what Meguiars is in the States, ie you buy it at the gas station and larger retail chains.
Thanks for the review,I have used it and like it,found it very similar if not identical to AGHD,Congrats on the win!!
