Some leather cleaning & conditioning questions...

I've got a few questions about conditioner/cleaner for different types of leather on our different vehicles and the cars I clean.

My dad has an '09 BMW 135i, with a black leather interior. He's looking for a good leather conditioner for the seats...any suggestions? The same thing for our '08 Mercedes GL450, except it has that artificial leather instead of real leather. Is there any sort of product that should be used on the seats, since they're not real leather?

When I get cars to clean, the leather seats are usually FILTHY. I tried using Turtle Wax Platinum Leather Cleaner and Conditioner on some moderately dirty seats on a Honda Accord last night, but it didn't clean them very well at all. I had to use Megs APC 4:1 to be able to get the seats clean once more, and that's the case with every vehicle I've cleaned. (I do a lot of dirty minivans.) Although I don't say in my ads that I condition leather, that I only clean it, I'd love a good (and relatively inexpensive, since I'll be using a lot of it) leather cleaner/conditioner. Although my customers have been very happy with me just cleaning the seats, I'd feel a lot better if I knew I was conditioning them too. Any ideas here?

    Thanks,

    Clark

Rusty, I don't about cheaper but the best leather cleaner out there IMO is the Leatherique combo. I charge extra for this package and the only drawback is it really needs to sit on the seats for as long as posible(24 hours or more). But for just clean-ups Woolite at 20:1 works really well. It isn't going to clean as well a true leather cleaner would but most customers will see a dramatic difference! Leatherique is the way to go as far as bring the rich look back to old leather!! But little bit pricey, thats why I would charge extra for the service. Hope that helps.

Thanks! I'm also looking for a good conditioner to use, just to maintain the leather on my dad's BMW. Anyone got some suggestions?

    Yes, don't.
Your dad's BMW seats will be protected with a clearcoating, just like nearly all paints are.
This protective barrier will not let anything in bar water, which the leather cleaner contains already.
Long story short - vacuum, clean, and that's it.

If you want, use a protection product like that made and sold by Leather Care Products | Leather Furniture Repair
Not sure though if anyone in the US/Canada has anything other than run-of-the-mill conditioners which aren't needed on a lot of leathers, never mind automotive ones.

Contact Judy, and see what she says - shipping a single item to you would be fairly cost prohibitive, but she may already have a US distributor or company that buys for themselves in quite a sizeable quantity, and you could tag on to their order.
