Safe Driving guys and those with summer tires still on, grab winters on em asap! (especially our Vancouver MINI owner, Hansen with Falkens)
Those in inner mainland/Canada like Ken and Troy, take extra care in there as theres probably more snow there lol.
We're expecting a drop into the -ve Celsius during next week.
Extra Jackets and Remember to shut the mains to your exterior water taps and open the taps.

AND DONT FORGET TO BRING IN COLD SENSITIVE DETAILING EQUIPMENT INDOORS! (if they reside in your unheated garage)

East Coast, are you guys snowing there yet?

Good call on the frozen tap issue kyoshiro!
Was just doing a mobile job outdoors up in North Van by Grouse earlier this week, and now I'm hibernating at home under 3" of snow in Coquitlam!

Only had melting snow once here in Montreal. I was VERY upset since it was in early November and the RX-7 was still out at that time. I hate winter.....

    Good reminders though!

Nope not yet, calling for a slight mix this afternoon though but quickly changing to rain. Can't believe Vancouver gets snow this early...but all forecasters are saying more snow this year all around (in canada atleast). Gotta make up for the easiest winter last year.

Time to get the car in storage :(

Got caught last night coming home from work with my worn bridgestone re11's. Get those winters put on guys! Changing tires on the side of the road while snow is bucketing isn't fun!

East Coast USA, no snow here yet. We usually start to get snow late December and the bad snowfalls are in January/February.

Ive been meaning to ask you, what tires you have on the GLK. I remember reading you said the stocks had the mountain/snowflake symbol. Are those the all season tires? Or did you put some winters?

Pirelli Scorpion High Performance All Seasons with extra load weighted and with the Snowflake on em. They're SUV Road tires tho. Another batch of GLKs with 20" rims had Dunlops which were 1/2 as good as these in terms of tread rating and grip.
If you need All-Seasons for a normal road car, I'd say get Continental ExtremeContact DWS even if you have to order from the States, best tested all-season on snow from Tirerack. Nokian WR2 or something have snow flake rated All Seasons too but I hear theyre a bit noisier.

My dads looking for something to fit the RX350, do you know the exact name of the Pirellis they have quite a bit of all seasons, but Im not sure if they will be 225/60/17?

Found them, are they called Asimmetrico? If so, they dont have the new mountain/snowflake, but just the old M+S rating which is a bad indication of snow traction.

    Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico
they should have em at 17", its only at 20" that we dont get many options lol

the RX might be 225/65/17 looking @ tirerack
    Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico

seems like they come in 235 width minimum, which may or may not work on those rims.
    however...
    Continental ExtremeContact DWS

Continental ExtremeContact DWS are available for your size most prob

Depends on if you need to have the snowflake symbol or not (going up mountains maybe)

Nice! And they are the Asimmetricos?

  18. kyoshiro

yea scorpion zero assimetricos, but dont blame me if these were OEM-ed for Benz and specific for this rim size and snowflake rating LOL
but again, do check for if they come in the size for your dad's RX, else go with contis, although theyre not snowflaked, they have snow rated tread.

  19. luke093

    luke093 Welcome to Detailing

Yea, we wanted to go with the contis, but no proper sizing was available. These can fit though. I will look around and email Pirelli too. But I dont think they would make a different tire just for OEM with the same naming.

    Thanks though!

np, they prob wouldnt but i dont know if they only got the 20" certified cuz apparently theres a size which u can get just M+S on tirerack (which may be that the others are snowflaked).
But it does seem strange that Contis arent in your size because Tirerack said it was lol.
