Coming soon. Threw this together today for our forum, but figured some of you would like a look as well. Like almost everyone I've been using the popular swissvax brush for a long time now... good brush, but we thought we could do better. Been working on this one a long time and I'm happy to see it close to becoming reality! My apologies to anyone who doesn't get the humor at the beginning.

Honestly not settled yet... I'd venture to guess $15-$20 is where it'll fall.

That thing looks FREAKING AMAZING! Please keep the price very affordable in the SV and RG Brush prices and its a sure winner. Heck, I'll be the first buyer!

That's what I'm thinking... the RG brushes don't hold for crap. The glue breaks apart from all the chemicals.

    The swissvax is a champ

This brush does look very nice, but $20 is a lot.

I think most would be comfortable with a $13-$14 range.

Maybe do a DB group buy for that price point one time? I'd be down for two!

The complaints about the glue letting go was part of our inspiration for working on this. Like I said I've used the SV brush for a long time as IMO it was the best one out there, but the problem I had over and over is the ferrule breaking (plastic) and that was pretty much it for the brush. It wasn't so much a complaint as an annoyance, especially if I dropped it accidentally and it broke.

So we went crazy on our design, packed it with more fibers, used a rolled and coated nickel ferrule and a super durable epoxy to basically address all the issues we had with other brushes.

I can't promise it'll come in that low simply b/c its always more expensive to manufacture anything here in the US versus China, but thats part of our company philosophy.

In my opinion it will be the king of the hill for brushes of its type in the market, also backed with a 110% money back guarantee and I'm sure we can work intro pricing here on DB for you guys that'll get the price down.

Thanks for posting the video Dylan. It looks like a very nice brush. I look forward to buying it.

The bristles look very impressive, much more dense looking than the SV brush.

Out of curiosity, I have a couple of questions about decisions made during the development process.

Why a metal ferrule and, why not a plastic handle? Do you think a metal ferrule might leave scratches in tight areas? Wood can crack when soaked with water and then dried out, a plastic handle might be more tolerant to water.

    Thanks

thank you for manufacturing it in USA!:worship2:

I second supercharged, thank you for making it in the USA.

I would happily pay extra for it knowing it was U.S. made.

$20 would be half the price of your much larger wheel brush and Phil's Uber Boar's Hair Wheel Brush is $24.95. The new lug brush is a lot smaller compared to those brushes though.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know where the SV brush made? Is it CH, China, or someplace else?

Metal ferrule b/c our main complaints w/ the SV brush were the tendencies of the plastic ferrule to crack. I've tossed out 2 SV brushes that cracked... one from a drop (my fault) and one that just seemed to crack for no reason. They both served me well, but just annoyed that they cracked. The nickel ferrule was actually suggested by the brush manufacture, first version it was sharp, so on the next prototype they rolled the edge for us. Hasn't been a problem as of yet, as with anything caution should be exercised as ideally the ferrule should never touch anything delicate.

We played with a plastic handle and just didn't like the feel. Then tried a wood handle that was plastic dipped, but it didn't feel right either. The swissvax brush has a wood handle and I've never had one fail so we stuck with that part of the design.

    Also helps keep costs down.

The plastic ferrule falling apart is a common complaint of the SV brush. I guess that in a perfect world the ferrule would indeed be metal for strength and durability and additionally, be rubber coated (or some other coating) to protect against scratching. But that would raise the price of course.

The wood handle of the SV brush does have a nice feel to it.

Approximately when will it be available?

hmmm im constantly knocking my SV brush against the wheel spokes cleaning disc hats and calipers

will pass on this due to the metal collar

Maybe Steve Jobs will make a bumper available for it like he did for the iPhone. I'm sure he wouldn't want the rims or calipers on his SL55 scratched.

Wrap it in some electrical tape for crying out loud

    Exactly my thoughts!

I dig this brush so much. Although I have an RG brush like this, the hairs are slowly 1-2hairs per session falling out and it doesn't seem to be delicate enough for paint areas. Thing is... if I buy the brush alone, shipping's going to kill the price. Just want something easy on the matte black wheels arriving soon.

I see many people wrap their broken SV brushes in electrical tape. I don't know how long the tape holds up to water and chemicals.

How about epoxy gluing a wrist band, like the yellow Lance Armstrong LIVESTRONG band, to the metal. It might take two, depending on the width. Something like this might be a more permanent solution. But if not, electrical tape is cheap and plentiful.

    :shead::shead: The wristband to this...

The entire wristband itself is too large in diameter. You cut the exact length (diameter) you need, wrap it around the ferrule and bring the two ends to touch. Epoxy will bond metal , wood, rubber, etc.

Hey Michael. If you are having a problem with the brushes, let me know and I'll replace it. I've been using the same set of 5 for doing my wheels and jambs for over a year without any bristles falling out so you have my apologies if you're having any issues.

    See above.

Sorry Ken, please don't take the personally. I know you have no control over quality.

They're cheap enough to just replace. But after the collar fell off, and I saw how the bristles where glued to the plastic handle, I could see why it fell apart so fast.
