Hi guys, anyone using Simple green cleaner for tires & wheels? is it like megs apc? its nontoxic ... i saw it on Acehardware, on back label, it can be used on automative 1:3 - 1:10 ... price is really cheap and high dillution as well ... need some review or comment ... thanks
If you can find Simple Green Automotive/motersports it would be better than the regular Simple Green. The normal one is somewhat corrosive to aluminum so I never liked to use it but the Motersports version is approved for use on airplanes and thus a little safer. I did use it on wheels once, painted wheels, and it worked ok no better than Megs APC. I would still go with Megs APC if you are able to get it much more versatile and safer I think.
Simple Green Max is the one that is the automotive cleaner/degreaser, which says it on the label. It's also a black bottle which is probably the one you saw. It is like Meguiar's APC but the Simple Green Max is has a fairly low ph of 9.5 so it should be safe on all wheels. I believe it is also approved for us on vehicle paint but you'll have to read the specifics on the back of the bottle.
When I first started detailing, I used Simple Green for a while and it worked pretty good. Can't really fault it.
I only can get regular simple green on local shop, there is no simple green max or special for automative. thanks for all the input. ahwil
