Hey all, tomorrow will be my first attempt with the g220 to remove swirls , which is something like the udm... not that I can see any swirls or scratches on the front and rear plastic bumpers and sideskirts, but should I work on them ? will it be safe to work on them ? i'll be using 4 inch pads if need be ... im assuming that the oem paint has clearcoat ... but not sure how thick the paint or clear coat layer is ? do you guys usually remove swirls on them ? any tips or caution to be exercised when working on those parts ? I'm thinking since there's no defects , maybe I should just leave them alone ? save time and trouble I guess... if not I'm thinking, it wouldnt be too bad to just use DG 501 cleaner on grey 4 inch ccs instead ? but of course, in future, when my skills and confidence improves, I might consider getting a black car... so would be good to know how to tackle these plastic bumpers ? thanks all !
It's perfectly fine to polish plastic bumpers so long as they're clear-coated. Just keep in mind that plastic bumpers aren't so forgiving with heat.
 you bet you can polish the bumpers, like it has been said, just be really careful pay close attention. You'll be fine, take some pictures and let us know how it goes eace:
