Im going to be picking one up soon and im wondering what the least amount of HP i should be looking at. Im thinking 5hp should do the job? I don't want something that is going to struggle with picking up anything i throw at it

I have a 6 hp Ridgid WD1450 and the thing sucks! It's amazing. I use it for construction around the house as well as detailing. Quite and very powerful. My only complaint would be that it's a bit large.

I personally use a 5 HP Craftsman model and I believe it's sufficient for detailing. I haven't tried anything weaker other than using a normal vacuum back in the day.

I have the 5 hp Ridgid WD4050 and love it. It has enough power and is big enough but not cumbersome.
