So while I browse Ken and Phil s' sites, I start adding stuff to cart and oh boy its like 400 bucks ea cart, I be like zomg I wants then zomg NO MONEYZ I really should start doing these consumer research things for cash, 75 bucks/2hr of research paneling OR its time to play on the online BC Lotto site and try my luck! lol and even better, time to start coding some applications and sell on apple appstore and add google adsense to all my sites! so who else has the same problems as me, I think this add to cart spree is a sickness lol
Most of us had the same problem back in the day, but if you do your research you can get away with little product. Ken did a fantastic writeup a little while ago on the necessities of starting a detailing business. Don't get caught in the trap of buying everything you see come onto the market. I have about 20 LSP's and I'm more satisfied with the one I started with over the one's I have tried recently. Even stuff like Powerlock lasts about 3 months maintained with a pH neutral soap, and there are waxes/sealants out there that last longer and are also easy to apply and remove, like DG 105 and Collinite 845. I'm not convinced at all on the whole looks department either. I have better than 20/20 vision and I see no staggering difference between any LSP on black.
Why don't you perform a detail or two with your new product? You can make your initial investment back in two or three details!
I know exactly what you mean when it comes to shopping for detail products, I seriously think I have a problem. I guess since we have only been in business for a year or so I am really excited and get ansy about trying different products and seeing what's out there. Now that we have some money in the bank we are holding off on product and tools and spending our money on business registration, tax id stuff and insurance. Hard not to spend it on products and tools. Gotta keep the priorities straight though.
that is one very good suggestion, i'd need a business license tho lol or I guess i can sell my friends my detailing lol
