Greetings All: I have a Benz E550 and now after having my wheels refinished and slightly clear coated I wanted to ask if anyone can suggest a product to kick the shine up a notch or two. Thanks in advance.
Greetings to you, and welcome to Detailing Bliss ! Not sure what you mean by "slightly clear coated" - does this mean the wheel shop is going to paint them using the factory paint/color, and then adding a few coats of clear ? Regardless, you can put whatever you use on your paint on the wheels to clean them and help protect the finish. Some products will last longer on wheels and help protect them from brake dust etching, etc., better than others. I have had great success using a product called Rejex on wheels. You can find it on the Internet, some Detailing shops sell it, it may even be on Amazon. It is a good cleaner and leaves a protection layer on wheels that helps repel all the stuff that tends to end up on them very well. The ultimate protection for wheels would probably be something on the order of Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 or newer, after they were really cleaned up and polished to the perfection level you would want them to stay at. So, in that sense, probably right after you got them back from the wheel guys, check them out, make sure they look perfect, and then seal them up, and you are done with them for quite some time. Just make sure the finish is completely dry before you put this product on. As long as you can smell it coming off the wheels, it is still curing and paint always cures from the first layer out. Good luck with this ! Dan F
