Seat Leon protection detail Yesterday I did a protection detail on a friends Seat Leon, I had done an enhancement detail on this car previously but unfortunately it hasn’t really be looked after since being done. She wanted the car cleaning up to take to a local VAG meeting. Products and equipment used Poorboys black hole Chemical guy’s black light Chemical guys V7 Chemical guys jetseal 109 Uber microfiber towels Uber drying towel Poorboys deluxe mega towels Lake country constant pressure glazing pads 140mm/100mm Lake country ultimate last step pads 140mm/100mm Valet pro hp neutral snow foam Valet pro citrus bling Valet pro bilberry wheel cleaner Valet pro tyre gel Valet pro orange pre wash Meg’s hyper wash Meg’s hyper dressing Werkstat Prime Acrylic Various wheel brushes Autosmart tardis Makita rotary polisher Karcher pressure washer Noodle wash mitt Sheepskin wash mitt Raceglaze rubber dressing 00 grade wirewool Autosol Snow foam gun 3m blue masking tape Megs APC Car before I started Started by giving the car a spray with orange pre wash which was left to dwell before being jet washed off, then a thick coating of foam made up of a strong mix of Valet pro hp neutral snow foam and Meg`s hyper wash Gaps and badge’s agitated using a soft detailing brush Whilst this did its stuff I cleaned the wheels using the bilberry wheel cleaner and various wheel brushes and the noodle wash mitt, they where then given a coat of tardis This was then blasted off with the pressure washer, and then the van was given another coat of snowfoam and washed using Meg’s hyper wash and the 2 bucket method and a sheepskin wash mitt and a noodle wash mitt for sills and under bumpers. Car was then rinsed off and left wet for claying, clayed using blue clay and weak mix of citrus bling as lube Leaving me with this. As this was meant to be a protection detail but I didn’t fancy the car being left covered in swirls, so I decided to give it a coat of poorboys black hole using the rotary and the glazing pads buffed using the poorboys towels Couple of 50/50 shots Once I had worked my way round the car using this I gave the car its first coat of the black light also using the rotary but now with the ultimate last step pads. Giving this The car was given 2 coats like this leaving 20 min for each coat to bond and then 20min between each coat. Buffed using poorboys towels Whilst waiting I polished the exhaust using wirewool and Autosol Before After Badges and grill polished using Jeff’s prime Before After Plastic trim treated with Raceglaze rubber dressing, this is a product I’m really loving at the moment easy to apply and leaves a cracking finish 50/50 shots Car was then given 3 coats of V7 leaving 30min between each coat and buffed using uber microfiber towels. Whilst waiting the tyres were dressed using valet pro tyre gel alloys given 2 coats of jetseal 109, arches given 2 coats of Megs hyper dressing and glass cleaned inside and out using neat citrus bling.
