I was thinking of creating a list of specific colours and paint types along with the associated LSP that usually offers the best results. Whilst I know it is all very subjective, and with the vast array of products available there is no set method or combo that will always work, I think it would help some of us alot to know what USUALLY (in your own experiences) works well. For someone coming into detailing the vast number of different opinions are literaly mind boggling and sometimes downright confusing. Maybe if this works out ok the admin's can make it a sticky for easy reference aranoia: Would go something like this to be used as an example only (contributors can simply copy and paste and then add their recommendations) Flat (non-metallic) finishes Colour LSP recommendation Whites : Wax (Zymol Ti) Yellows : Sealant (Jetseal) with wax (Swissvax Concourso) Oranges : Sealant only (Duragloss) Greens : Greys : Reds : Blues : Blacks : glaze (Meguiars speed glaze) followed by wax (Pinnacle Sov) Metallic and pearlescent finishes Colour LSP recommendation Whites : Sealant only (Jetseal) Yellows : Oranges : Greens : Silvers : Greys : Reds : Blues : Blacks : Glaze (EZ Creme II) sealant (Jetseal) and wax (Zymol Royalle) What do you guys think, would you add your recommendations or is it far to hit and miss to be of any relevance or should us noobs continue to fumble our way around in the dark and learn the hard way :booboo:

Would it be to much of a generalisation to use the following as a rough guide : darker coloured cars with non-metallic finishes = wax LSP darker coloured cars with metallic finishes = sealant LSP lighter coloured cars with non-metallic finishes = wax LSP lighter coloured cars with metallic finishes = sealant LSP My reasoning of going with sealants as opposed to waxes on the metallic finishes is due to numerous mention of flake hazing by carnuba products on said metallic finishes. What I don't understand however is why some then apply a carnuba based wax ontop of the sealant on metallic cars..... I know as time goes by with trial and error you will find what works best, just trying to get something of an idea as to what works best for the various different paint shades and finishes....if that makes any sense at all !
Leaving aside subjective terms- a Carnauba wax provides protection from bird excrement / acid rain better than a polymer
