So Carn and I got to sample some Scholl products this weekend.

    We had the S17, S22 and S30+.

Now, I have read that the S17 is a one stop shop, but I was left feeling robbed. Perhaps its just that I dont know how to use it.

The pads we used it with was the 3M yellow and 3M blue pad.

Now we use the Menz polishes and are used to the long working time. The Scholl does certainly seem to work quicker and removes a good amount of scratches with the yellow pad. However, the shine did not seem to be there. Upon inspection, we also saw that it left a fair bit of holergraming.
So, next was to try the blue pad and some S17. This did bring the shine out more but still there was holergrams.
So back to FA to clean up the pannel.

Maybe we worked it too fast, (speed 3 then back to speed 1) maybe the Scholl does not like the 3M pads??

Anyone here that can shed some light?

Is the blue 3M pad finishing/polishing pad?

I use S17 with wool, then a orange or black pad from Scholl concepts. Thats polishing/finishing.
And the holograms will be gone. But for best shine, I use to drop S17 with finishing pad, and go for S30+.

Speed 3 dosen`t say me mutch. Flex?

By the way, no need to bring the speed down with scholl S17. I use to stop at 2-3 on the flex. S17 flashes very fast,

Thanks for the input Ketil and thanks for posting this up Grant ;)

The blue 3M pad is the Finessing/Finishing pad, the yellow is the polishing pad. I did notice on the one section we did that when worked at speed 2 (Makita rotary + yellow pad) for a shorter time it cleaned up the paint pretty well and didn't leave any holograms. I think we may be used to the long work times of the Menz and overworked the Scholl or ran it at too high a speed or something :shead:

Ketil, speed 3 on our machines is 1500rpm's or so for reference. I am not sure how that compares to the Flex ;)

Use Scholl with high rpm, around 2000 rpm. Refinish with S30+ or S40.
