This is a prototype product from Surf City Garage.

I did a half hearted test on a black Expedition using Wipe Out scratch remover. It's a very thick polish designed to be used by hand to remove very localized scratches in smaller areas like doorhandles, trunkhandles, etc. The subject vehicle is pretty trashed (and soon to be replaced) and the product couldn't and isn't designed to remove all of the deep scuffs around the door handle, but it made a pretty significant difference.

    The product in question...

I applied SCG WO with a yellow foam applicator and worked the product in a little bit to see it's biting power. I could have done a better job of finishing down but, like an idiot, spread the product into too large of an area and didn't follow the instructions exactly. Using the product in a very small localized area and doing it one section at a time will ensure a good abrasive breakdown and that you didn't miss anything. You'll see the slight haze I added around the doorhandle like a jackass. I didn't finish down because this product isn't supposed to be worked until dry, and because time was an issue as well as paying attention in general.

From the photos you can tell that a lot of the scuffs were removed, although not all. It's dark in my garage to it's hard to see and I missed a little on the way inside of the door handle, which was touched up. Again the car is trashed and I don't plan on finishing down the haze.

Overall it's a pretty straightforward product to use, even if I don't follow directions. I'd say 60-75% of the light scratches were buffed out. It was a little tricky for me to finish down on black with but it made a good improvement.

I'd give it a 7/10 so far. On a light colored vehicle this would be a really nice product to have, but on a black vehicle it'd take a little bit of time and patience to get it to properly finish down. It has a nice coconut smell, which follows the tropical theme of a lot of SCG products.

Nice review, looks like a Meg's ScratchX fighter.

Whatever happened to their new trim dressing that was supposed to come out? Didn't you review that a long time ago?

Yeah it was pretty good, not too long lasting but extremely dry. I'm not sure what they're doing with it, then sent it to me over the summer.

How does this product compare to a similar product, ScratchX 2.0?

I haven't really tried anything comparable to tell you the truth.
