Today I finally got a chance to try out the Surf City Garage Hi-Def kit, which includes Nano Sealant and Glaze. The order you apply these two differs from other brands, as the Glaze, or Gloss Coat, goes on after the sealant. Both of these products apply very easily and are removed really easily, which is always a plus in my book. After applying the sealant, it was rather lackluster and dull. It was pretty mute. The Gloss coat, however, seemed to really kick it up a notch. My silver metallic paint looked very wet and deep, which is uncommon. The Gloss coat is strange, as you apply it to 1/4 of the car and then buff off, but other than that, I like it. These two products are supposed to be used in conjunction with each other, and do it well. I'd say personally that the gloss coat is necessary. Nice review. Keep us updated on the durability. What did you do to clean the paint? Or does the Nano Seal have cleaners in it?
I used a bit of Alcohol on a rag and wiped the panels down. They have a Beyond Clay product that's intented for pre-cleaning, with no sealant properties.
I saw this stuff at Advance Auto. $40 for a wax system is pretty pricey at Advance or any OTC parts place but then Walmart carries Auto-Glym.
A tad pricey, yeah. You can get 16oz of total product for around $30 bucks. The sizes you saw were 16oz each, amounting to $40. Not too bad, but considering Powerlock is on the market for that price, it's hard to justify.
