Right off the bat, I'm going to say this is hands down my favorite tire dressing to date. Waterbased, looks great, dry to the touch, very versatile and a little bit goes a long way. I really can't say enough about this product. I've applied different amounts and got different looks, 2 sprays per tire is my favorite- it gives a nice black look but not too glossy. Price- The 24oz spray bottle can be had for around $12-13, making it a bit more expensive than other OTC products, but you don't use a lot at all. Ease-It's a waterbased tire dressing, spreads easy as hell. Goes on blue and the color disappears when it is dry to the touch. Don't overload the applicator or it'll drip. Looks- Ranges anywhere from a matte finish to a bit glossy depending on how much you put on. Durability- Stuff lasts a pretty long time. I generally strip and redo my car once a week, but I've seen this stuff go about two weeks before. Here's a pic of it on the tire the day after. Here's a swipe test, went around 1/5 of the tire circumference. Compare the tips of my fingers, where I swiped, with the rest of my fingers. Not much of a difference. This stuff is pretty damn dry. I hope I swayed some of you. I LOVE this stuff. I give it a 4.5/5 for overall value.
It's been my favorite too. I have White Pearl, and it's too glossy/greasy for me. Maybe I should try wiping it down a little. But As soon as I tried BBTP, I bought the 2L bottle from Justin. So easy to use, Decent durability, and awesome look.
Thanks for the review ... this one is also one of my favorites. The only thing I'm not a fan of is that is too watery and the application can be somewhat messy (most dressings are). I like PB's Bold and Bright a little bit more because it's a little bit thicker making it easier to apply.
This is my application method. I just think I could be just a tad thicker ... it's a great product though!!
How did you guys get long durability with this stuff? I applied this stuff right before a roadtrip, and 800 miles later (2 days), plus a little rain, made the tire look like nothing was put on. Was it just the mileage, rain or a combination of both that wore away my application?
800 miles is almost four weeks worth of driving in terms of mileage. Could have been the mileage, could have been the application method, could have been a combination of things. I always wash my car once a week so tire shines never fully go away on me but they do often lose most of their gloss. SCG is one of the water-based tire dressings I have that holds its shine quite well.
