Hey guys, need your help. My car is basically always under maple trees(I love a detailers dream come true ) so to say the least, it seems some sap. I've recently have a few spots that are thick and even a quick detail won't clean it off with a microfiber cloth. I'm taking it my next step would be claying? I'm a bit worried since I know after you clay I have to wax and/or seal it. Normally, this isn't a problem, but on Friday I will be going on a 4 hour drive(each way) for the weekend and I'm pretty packed before Friday. Next weekend, I'll have time to actually polish and wax the car, but I really would like to get this sap off. I have a Clay magic Blue Fine grade clay bar and was hoping this would be enough, but haven't had a chance to use it yet. If I would need another clay bar, what would you recommend? You could use some 91% Isopropyl Alcohol or some Prep-All/PrepSol. Just keep in mind that doing either will remove any wax/sealant you had in the spots you treat. For particularly tough sap let your rag/towel moistened with either product listed before sit on the sap spot for a few moments to work at it. You could also use a strong bug and tar remover as well.
I have them on my property and use a bug sponge and DG bug and tar remover and then wash and it comes right off. You can substitute ONR for the wash as well if it's just a small area.

O wow! Thanks guys! I have some very stubborn sap spots on my moms PT cruiser and also on a GTI i have in my back yard! I will try out my dupont prep sol on them! THANKS!
