Salt "stains" on finish?

We have a 2011 Accord and I keep up with winter washing once every week or two. This time around I really had an issue with getting the grime off, which seemed to just be a salt stain. I tried out a new soap and wash mitt and thought that that was the issue, but I followed back up with my regular system and still have a salty haze over the black paintwork. I was very distraught and felt like a moron haha.

Are you rinsing your wash mitt after each panel?

Brine clings on the finish like crazy. You absolutely must be sure to wipe over the area thoroughly. Unlike dust, gentle agitation is required.

Yep, that's why I'm so mad!

I'm afraid I'll dislodge it and it will mar the finish. Do you think pre-spraying with a 50:50 vinegar water solution on the lower panels would be too aggressive?

I dont think doing some sort of presoak or APC will do any harm at all. You obviously aren't worried about removing any sort of LSP so doing that to remove the brine should be fine.
