Been a bit slow for my friend and I with vacation and such… My friend and I have been looking forward to detailing this car since we booked it, and it didn’t disappoint, and a great car to get back into the swing of things!

But, how could a 2008 Porsche Carrera 4S disappoint anyways?!?!? And it’s even harder when the owner lets you deliver it back to his house!!!

The gentleman who owns this car uses it as a daily driver all year round and it has seen a New England winter or two. He contacted us after seeing some of our other work sitting in the parking lot at work and word of mouth and desired a full exterior correction and the interior brought back to life.

Overall the car was in decent shape and the black much like the Black BMW X3 we did early this year, hid it’s imperfections well until it got under the lights, then it needed lots of love. The interior was not in terrible shape it just needed a good vacuum and wipe down but the seats were in dire need of cleaning and dressing to return the black finish.

After 24man hours the outcome is a 9.5/10, front clip does need some paint and the 3m side pieces could use replacement, besides those few items we were beyond pleased with the results, car looks soaking wet when there isn’t a drop of water to be seen :)

Lots of pics and I hope you enjoy!!! :thumb:

I forgot that was originally black paint. Great work on a hammered car!

GREAT JOB guys!!! That's a dramatic improvement! The after shots make the car look really black! I'm sure the owner was pleased. What was his reaction?

Must be nice to be able to drive a Porsche to the client.

Amazing job. I do have a question, what did you use on the 3M fender protectors?

Thanks for the feedback guys. The customer was very pleased with the outcome. He said it looked better then the day he got it and is not sure he wants to drive it now. Of course I still want him to drive it but I can appreciate the comment as validating the outcome of the detail :)

House: We usually only use Menzerna 85RD on the 3M to clean it up, but the drivers side was so bad that we used Menzerna 106FA on a green pad with light pressure followed up with the 85RD on a blue pad to gloss it up a bit. We did powerlock over it but no wax. You do have to watch during wipe down to remove the compound that can build up on the edges of the masked section or you get a nice white outline.

Oh and driving the car to the client was the icing on the cake for the detail. Car was driven back with the utmost care, but even then it was tons of fun and memorable. My friend and I often get to deliver client's cars to them but this one ranks at #1 currently for me (2nd is a 'vette that puts 520ish to the pavement :) )

Thanks for the info, I guess I can't polish them with out fear of damaging them.

Sorry if I missed it, but what machine did you use? I saw a PCXP on the ground in one picture, was that the only polisher you used?

The reason I ask is because I'm going to be attempting the same on my buddies 997 911 turbo Saturday.

    That thing turned out amazing!

Great work! I am a BIG fan of the shots with the LSP setting up, especially when applied with a PC.

Oh good catch! We used PC7424XPs on it... We could have used the Flex we had once we understood how the paint was going to act during correction.

As am I... I tend to try and make it look uniform almost like fish scales... My friend tends to just make random patterns :) Needless to say he did the trunk area after he finished up with cleaning up the badging!

I don't know how I missed this the other day but you did a great job on this car!
