This was a fun detail, a friend of ours picked up a 2003 Audi RS6 in an Ebony Black Pearl (originally owned a car we previously detailed: http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/show-shine/18781-2008-volk-gti-silver.htm ). It has lived most of its life in New England and its lovely winters!

The car has almost 100k miles but was in surprisingly good shape body wise and mechanically according to the records kept for the car. But we did find a major fail from the previous owner during the wash and subsequent correction… Let’s just say they let salt sit and sit and sit on the car (pics later) :(

Owner only had us do an exterior correction and he did the interior with a bit of help for a quick clean-up of an otherwise near perfect interior.

After 24man hours the outcome is an 8.5/10, front clip, roof, and rear decklid need some help in the clear coat department after all the salt puck marks :(, these require sanding to be removed and time did not allot for the additional effort needed to correct. The 3m pieces could use replacement, besides those few items we and the owner were quiet pleased with the results, car looks soaking wet and really shows off the color shift the paint undergoes in the light.

Lots of pics and I hope you enjoy!!!

You don’t see this everyday, solar panel in the sunroof. It is used to help keep the car cool on hot days.

You got to be kidding me!!!! No close afters but we did the best we could without removing the emblem but the heavy scratches are blended well…

Not good :( Looks like the clear coat has been pitted severly…
    [IMG]

Claybar’ing overall was pretty bad, car has likely never seen a clay bar until today… This is only part of a panel and most of the car was as bad or worse…

Lil’ 50/50 from when we were working out the process for the car…Left corrected – Right uncorrected

What a rare bird, although I cannot believe somone would treat such a special car this way(See it all the time and never get used to this type of neglect), car looks nice now.

The lab in the reflection is like" Forget the marring........feed me now!".

Thanks for the feedback guys! Owner was saying it was one of 860ish that came to the states in 2003, so rare it is! It was a great car to work on and I have a greater appreciation for the styling now. I absolutely loved how the fender flares blended into the body.

LOL... He's 92lbs now and only 15mths old! Doc says he will be over 100 when he fills out... and he loves to eat! ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING!
