I have seen a number of users, more so nica using what looks to be an attatchment that extends the backing plate fitment. This looks as to be very usefull for working round wing mirrors and hard to work areas. As I am in the UK, is there anywhere where I can get one from, wing mirrors are the bain of my polishing life. I have even thought of trying to get a metal engineers to make one but that will costs silly money. Any help will be most appreciated.:thumb:
Oddly enough, it was a 3M UK backing plate which led me to getting the attachment. You see I couldn't wait to get a 5/8th threaded backing plate and instead ordered a few M14 threaded backing plates, which lead to the adaptor from M14 to 5/8th. Any who, any machine shop can make such adaptors and thread them as you require...not 100% on price but you could always run the idea by a machine shop and see what they say.

The threads you have available may not work with him because his threads are M14 not 5/8th, not unless the adaptors you have are M14 threaded I kinda doubt it seeing as we live in North America and our standard is 5/8th but you never know.
