so today was the Sprint for Soldiers Royal Flush Rally. it started in Wharton, NJ and went about 140 miles to Wilkes-Barre, PA, for those who are local to the areas. i'd say there were around 80 cars in attendance, which was down from the expected 100+ last week. im guessing cause of the rain out last weekend some people had to back out etc. there were a LOT of nice cars there, as you will see in the pics. i drove my MKV GTI, which is bone stock. i think i was the only stock car there, but like i always say, having a fast car doesnt mean anything unless you know how to drive it. the GTI held her own quite nicely. from my co-pilot and my count, we placed in the top ten to each checkpoint except one, and considering we were going again some heavily modded cars, M3's, S4's, RS4's, S2Ks, etc, im very happy with how we made out. the race wasnt really about how your car placed though. each car was dealt a poker card at each checkpoint, and the 3 cars with the best hands at the end won prizes. at each checkpoint there was a wait period of 10-15 minutes. it was a total blast. my friend daryl navigated for me, and my girl rode in the back and took pics. our tech package for the trip included a garmin nuvi, tomtom, netbook laptop, macbook pro, power inverter, 3G broadband, Valentine 1 radar detector, and a Nikon D50. roger, im really sorry you couldnt make it. i would have loved for you to be able to be there! on the way there:
Very Cool, I've been on Many a Poker Runs in My Day. The most Memorable one was in Miami. It was on the Atlantic Ocean riding shotgun in a Cigarette Racing Boat :woo:
Yeah it was an absolute blast. Seems the internet at my house just cut out so ill put the rest of the pics up and soon as I can
Oh My, lots more pics....:gasp: Where do I start...:shead: I guess 1st off tell your G/F Flash sends his regards, She's Smokin Hot :spank: What is that Guy doing with the Laptop in the Passenger Seat :shead: Isn't it Funny, Guys who have sunk all this Money into there cars, don't even notice swirls. To them there Natural :duh: Who ever was driving that Infiniti with the Funky Dirty wheel should have been Head Checked, who shows up to a Show with there Junk looking like that :shakehead: Did you make any Contacts today for New Biz?
the guy with the laptop was using google maps to plot waypoints for the routes. we were not given exact addresses to where the next checkpoint would be. made a couple contacts. most of the cars there i can honestly say tho were pretty well maintained.
Looked like a crap load of fun man! Alot of great pictures of the cars, thanks!! Your G/F is much cuter in color pictures than B&W...
I'm so mad that I couldn't make it to this one...I'm normally at every one. Looks like it was a great time though.
thanks, yeah it was a great day. yeah it would have been nice to meet you. its a shame you couldnt make it. thanks haha yeah i wasnt even paying attention to the swirling much at first, but then my girlfriend started pointing out the real bad ones.
Looks like you had a great time, wish I could take part in something like that but when the Dragon Tail was going on I was slammed with school stuff. Nice job repping the MKV crowd!
