    Hi,

I finally had a chance to try my new Sonus Der Wunder Drying Towels. As a disclaimer, I did win these on Autopia so I did not pay for them. Only shipping is what I paid for. I compared them to the Cobra Guzzler and the CG Super Absorber Waffle Weave.

Price: $24 for two of them. Which is cheaper than the Cobra or CG offering.

First Impressions: very well packaged, made me feel good about the quality control. The CG and Cobra towels just come in the box itself or in a brown paper sack. Felt very soft when I opened up the packaging!

Size: the towel is 24" x 30" which is a bit smaller than the CG or the Cobra towel. But not by too much.

Usage: I washed the towels with CG MF Wash. I air dried them. Came out feeling super soft, much softer than the CG or Cobra towels. Felt nice and thick.

In action: I was able to dry my ENTIRE truck with just one towel. When drying my truck with the Cobra or CG towels, I always need two to make sure the entire vehicle is dry.

All in all, I was extremely impressed by this towel. Definitely my favorite at this point. For the price, you cannot beat it.

    A+!!!

Great write up P1et, I recently got two Eshine drying towels and finally washed them yesterday. These towels seem much thicker than my CG ones and I can't wait to give them a try. I wonder how they would compare with the sonus one.

I love the Sonus Der Wunder towels, I have two of them that I bought 9 months ago and they are still going strong. They are very absorbent and soft. I compare them to Pakshak's waffle weaves towels, which are also very nice. All of the Sonus Mf's are excellent towels.

Those towels work well if they are cleaned properly, i bought the older version with the blue border about 2 years ago. I just used the CG WW towel and i felt that it was a lot softer but also thinner. I felt that the CG towel picked up water better.

I have two of those as well. They're good towels but I'm surprised you dried your truck with just one towel. It takes at least two to dry my car. I think they're starting to becoming less absorbent just like my cobra WW. I may have to look into my towel washing process and see if that helps.

Have any of you tried the Danase Water Devourers? They are incredible.

Yep, I was surprised as well. Dried my entire full size Dodge with just one of these towels. We'll see how they work out in the long run. I've had my Guzzlers for about 1.5 years now and they still work great as far as absorbancy goes. They're just not as soft I feel as these Sonus ones.

I like the CG ones a lot, but I feel like the last ones I bought were a lot less soft and thinner than the ones I previously bought from them. Perhaps a bad batch?

  11. Love them... I have 6 I still don't know WHY I have so many, but whatever !!!!!!!!

Because we're always afraid that the next time we want to buy some, it'll be a bad batch. Or they'll be out. I'm the same way...

Great review. I am several of these towel and I love. I agree they are comparable to the Pakshak WW. Both towels do a great job.

Thanks for the review. My opinion echoes yours. I have these towels and found them to be great at absorbing water. One towel is all I need for my car but my car is a hatchback. I use two to dry when I wash my gf's car though but I don't think I really need too.

I felt the need to update this review.

Although my opinion has not changed on the original two towels I purchase, I unfortunately did not fare so well on the four extra I ended up buying later on.

For some reason, they are even softer than the first two I purchased originally, but no matter what I try, the new ones don't absorb well whatsoever. It's extremely frustrating. They smear worse than anyother towel I have.

When washing them all together, you will see when you look into the washing machine that the water is almost being repelled from the towel. When the cycle is done, the old ones are wet like they are supposed to be, the new ones come out almost dry.

This is a frustration I have with microfiber towels. You can buy them and love them, then buy the exact same one a few months later and them just be crap.

Because of this reason, I unfortunately cannot recommend this towel any longer.

I have been watching this thread with great interest because I have a sonus drying towel and its the biggest pos I've tried. Soft as hell but doesn't absorb anything no matter what I wash it in.
