Tried this baby yesterday. Brian N asked for a review, so here you go buddy.

Product Name: Merino Wool Wash Mitt

    Price: £8.50 or around $12.61

Size: 12" x 8 1/2" A good size, thought it would be nice if they made a larger one.

Smell / Scent: Before use, possibly the worst smelling mitt out there, kind of like spoiled buttermilk or spoiled sour cream. Not to fear though, this awful smell goes away once you use it.

Consistency: Definitely the softest wool mitt I've ever tried (the RB Lambswool Wash Mitt being in second place). This thing is just super soft. The nap is long, though not as thick as the RB Lambswool Wash Mitt, which seems to have more fibers per square inch.

Cleaning Ability: Gets the job done.

Appearance: It is white, which is really nice because you are able to see when it is getting dirty. I was shocked to see how much dirt, bugs, and other junk was on my mitt after doing one panel.

    Durability: Too early to tell.

Pros: Super soft and did not induce any swirls that I could tell. I inspected my car closely with the halogens after I was done washing and drying.

Cons: Make sure you tuck in the wristband as it is very rough and if touches your paint it will probably mar the bloody heck out of it. This is the only con I could think of and unfortunately kind of a big concern. It does not make sense to make a super soft wool mitt, but with a super rough wristband. If they made the Merino with the wristband of the RB Lambswool Wash Mitt, it would be absolutely perfect.

Overall Comments: Definitely very happy with it. I could not believe how soft this thing is. I will be using both the Merino and the Lambswool Wash Mitt from now on. When I need to get the job done quicker, I will be reaching for the Lambswool Wash Mitt http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/f75/rb-soft-lambswool-wash-mitt-8471.html as it is huge.

Rating 1-5 (5 being the best): 4.5 - Could be a perfect 5 if it wasn't for the wristband.

LMAO. I hope to hell the smell wasn't on purpose.

I suppose it could be worse, definitely not as bad as that wet dog smell of the boar's hair wheel brush. :gross:

Have you tried the detailersdomain one? This is much cheaper so I might pick it up instead if it is really this good.

Can you let me know if it starts to fall apart, because this happens to me with a lot of them after a while. It sucks because the fibers get stuck all over the car and in your bucket, grit guard, etc.

Yes, I have. The Uber is definitely nice also, very soft, but the Merino is still a lot softer, IMO. On my first wash, I did not have any issues with the fibers ending up all over the car, bucket, or grit guard (with neither this one nor the RB Lambswool Mitt). I will definitely keep you guys posted.

im looking to replace my current mitts too, as they're starting to get stained after a good year of use

but my mitts have always been MF, and im hesitant to go lambswool given the stories of bad smells after you use them

i ordered the CG mitt, i think this is a synthetic fibre - havent received it yet

thinking about ordering this mitt, and the short hair dodo mitt - i prefer the short hair given its easier to wash trapped dirt out

I have one of those SN short hair mitts and love it! I hated long hair mitt, I like spending less time on maintaince...

It's softer then any other wool/sheepskin mitt I've tried to date...not sure how durable it is, but I'm not using it on my daily driver either...
