Well as most on here know I like a lot of products by a local manufacturer, Majestic Solutions. Well they had a product known as Enviro Shield. Its sold as a protective coating. I happened to be in the store a year ago when they were just getting to release it and was offered the opportunity to buy some but it was really expensive. The idea being that a little went a long ways and gave great results as a protective coating. Well I was skeptical and at the price, like $25 for 16 oz. I decided against buying any. Well as they brought it to market the price came down but was still a tad bit expensive for something I was still a little skeptical of. Well the price is now $16 for 16 oz and gets a little cheaper the larger quantity that you buy. Well I've been watching it and come really close to buying it but never did.

The idea behind it is that you put about 3 oz of Eviro Shield to a gallon of water and spray the entire car down with it after you wash and before you dry. After spraying the car down you just rinse it off and dry the car. Theory is it leaves a beautiful shine and protects for months. If true this would be great since the application is so simple. Its suppose to be great on glass, paint, chrome and polished metals. Basically a total vehicle surface protectant that leaves a high gloss.

Well fast forward to a few weeks ago and I got to know krshultz on here pretty well. He lives very close to Majestic Solutions and uses their products as well. I had told him about my intrest in the Enviro Shield. I told him I was looking for it mainly as a treatment for wheels and glass. I wanted it for wheels if it would make future cleanings easier and for glass as a water repellant (sort of like a cheap version of Aquapel). Well I had sent him some Menz 106ff and 85rd for a car he had coming up and in return he sent me a very generous sample of the Enviro Shield. Well now I had no reason not to try it out!

Like always I prefer to experiment with new products on my own cars. So I was planning to wash my Jeep and afterwards while it was still wet I put 3 oz of ES in a gallon of water and put it in a Solo 418 sprayer. I sprayed the entire car down and after the car, glass, and wheels were coated I rinsed it off. Man this was simple, but would I get the results they claimed.

First off I noticed that it has a brownish cough syrup type color. Its not pretty and really makes you think it will smell really bad and not work really well. You don't see a lot of detailing products that are this color. Well the smell is rather pleasant. It reminds me of the smell in one of those crafty country stores that women love to shop in. With the Solo 418 it sprayed on the entire car really well and rinsed off nicely. One thing I noticed when drying with the leaf blower afterwards that the water just ran off the glass in amazing speed. After blowing most of the water off I dried it with a CGs Miracle Dryer.

Well my Jeep is well maintained and looks really good after a wash so was it any more glossy than usual? I can't really say that it is. It looked about like my Jeep does after a wash and wipedown with Clearkote Quickshine. The shine wasn't really any better than I get from that but I was more interested in how it would perform on the next wash. I will say that the paint was super slick afterwards though.

Now fast forward again to the next was about 1.5 weeks later. It had rained a lot during that time thus the reason I went past my weekly wash. Now I always have to use my wheel brush when I clean the wheels as the the dirt and brake dust accumulate enough that I can't just rinse them clean. I always need some agitation although nothing back breaking but some agitation nonetheless to get them clean to my standards. Well I always start with the wheels and I took the pw and rinsed them off. I was pretty impressed with how much of the dirt came off with just the rinse. So as a test I decided to not agitate at all and see how they came out. This would be the true test. I don't expect a protective coating to keep dirt and brake dust off the wheels but I would expect it to make them simple to clean.

Well I had been playing around with a mixture for a maint. wheel cleaner for my cars. I love MS Super Green Stuff and use it at 2:1 so I mixed up some at 2:1 and added 2.5 oz of CGs Citrus Wash n Gloss to give it some clinging ability. Well after rinsing the wheel I sprayed on the JLs Detailing wheel cleaner, lol and just let it sit for about 1-2 minutes. I then went back and rinsed it only with NO agitation and to my surprise the wheels came spotless clean.:yikes: Needless to say I was thoroughly impressed and have found a new exciting product to make my life and my clients lives easier.

Now on glass I was equally impressed. Like I said it had rained for a number of days and while riding on the highway in the rain I never used my wipers. The water just rolled right off like it does when I treat my windows with DG 501. Actually it repelled better and it 100x easier to apply. Its hard to believe that something so easy could be so good. Well I took some before and after pics of the wheels. Now mind you this was done with no agitation but my wheels are well maintained. I am anxious to see it on some of my clients wheels and see if I can get the same results. I just bought my wife a BMW for Christmas :shh: and that should be the real test. If my results continue to be this successful I will offer this as an upcharge to my clients.

So far I am very very impressed with this product on glass and wheels. It does a good job on paint but nothing that just knocks your socks off. I did feel like it made the car a little easier to clean as most of the dirt just rolled off with a rinse. Application is just stupid easy and I'll keep you guys posted on how this holds up over the winter months. Well here are the before and afters of the wheels:

Great review, but it looks like you need to learn how to park with all that curb rash on the edge of the wheels.:poke:

Hahaha, be nice he is taking the team to the super bowl so don'r hurt his feelings. Plus if Arians goes he will be the Ben we drafted. O.k., didn't know if you knew what a curb was.

Thanks for the review JL! I'm going to give it another try. Still got some on the shelf, and I wasn't using it quite right. As JL knows, a guy that works at Majestic suggested to me that some folks just put some Enviro-Shield in their wash bucket, along with the soap, and do it that way. So I'll try the regular method next time.

I can say almost for certain that Enviro-Shield has no silicone in it. Reason I say that is that JL's and my favorite car wash from them, Ultra Gloss, says right on the bottle that silicone will kill the suds. I still got plenty of suds with the ES mixed in.

My car will be the ultimate wheel test. JL's now seen two weeks worth of the brake dust my race-compound brake pads generate, and it's a lot of very black dust. Since I've had some trouble with my Werkstat technique the last two days, I need to do another wash anyway, so I'll try it then.

We'll see they just didn't feel like playing that game after already knowing they have a by.
They should meet the Titans again and you will see a different outcome.

This product looks fairly promising JL! I really do look forward to your results in the upcoming weeks/months. I'm thinking of adding this product to my wish list of Majestic Solutions products to try out, especially since the $12 flat rate shipping is awesome.

Hey guys - I'm about 20 minutes from Majestic and love to go there and get stuff, I was on the fence about ES - but now, I'm going to try it. Have you guys tried Tidal Wave and Enzymatic? They are great! Also, I bought the whole stash of Wipe-n-Shine they had, best QD ever made. Too bad they're not making it anymore.

Wow, glad I noticed that site was Singapore. I was going to tell you that you're getting ripped off big time. I can get DG111 for 9.99.

I also thought DG Enviroshield was not available yet...

Majestic Solutions ES and DG ES is not the same. DG is a paint sealant that uses a catalyst to create a strong bond to the paint and is a long life sealant that is not being sold yet. Majestic Solutions is a spray on/wash off sealant.

Ok, just looked at that site and looks like I was thinking of another DG ES, maybe?

    Hi pektel,

Yes, DG is not as cheap as USA site selling ... it might due to the high shipping cost to asia.

for example, I ordered CG from paul, the total ordered was usd 111, the shipping cost to Indonesia was abt USD 55, without count the government tax yet... might be 25% ...

    hahah ...

Detailing products are cheaper in Singapore as compared to Malaysia and Indonesia. Still will not be cheaper compared to local. Shipping and Taxes ripped it out but Duragloss distributor in Singapore prices are much affordable compared to some OTC. Not to forget the exchange rate is 1SGD : 1.45USD, add up everything and is still much cheaper compared if we were to buy from AG.

And for enviro-shield, I uses it and I love it.

You're right on the money with your guess. They have been working on it for a while and are almost ready to do some testing with it. They are concerned about the product settling in the bottle which is something I've been told the Optimum product does. Nothing gets released from DG until it's perfect. They go overboard almost with the testing so they only have to do it once....that's why you don't see "new and improved" on their label. I am excited to see when this stuff does eventually come out.

This is confusing...I refer to Majestic Solutions ES. I use it in conjunction with ONR. 1 teaspoon added to a gallon of wash-strength ONR retains the cleaning ability of the ONR and adds a very good shine and some pretty strong beading. When I bought the ES, the good folks at MS told me it is an amino-functional polymer developed for tunnel washes. They said the polymer bonds instantly, and it does! You can actually see it! A little goes a long way, particularly if you apply it by hand, rather than spraying. Hence, you only need a teaspoon. This is a great product. While not cheap, the per-use cost is quite low.

    You spot on Oliver. :thumb:

Singapore is far cheaper compared to other southeast asia countries due to high shipping cost & government tax ...

I just ordered enviroshield from DG singapore, I am very exciting to test it ... hehe

Guess we are all talking about different things. Richy is referring to Enviro-shield by Duragloss. The Majestic ES is another thing. Is Enviro-Shield a trade mark for Duragloss?
