    Hi Everyone,

I had the chance to test out a new product today from Duragloss, 931 No Rinse Wash with Aquawax. Anyone that has read my write-ups can see that being a mobile detailer, I am an avid user of ONR. I use it for washing, claying, windows, light wipe down of interiors, and other small things here and there. For all my regular maintenance washes I use ONR and follow with Duragloss Aquawax on paint, glass, and wheels. When I saw a post on another forum about this new product from Duragloss I knew I had to give it a shot. It could potentially allow me to buy 1 product for two steps, Washing/light maintenance waxing.

First let me start by saying, because I already use ONR (Optimum) and aquawax (Duragloss) I really have no bias for or against either company and would not try to drop one of their products just because, but when I can buy 1 product to do 2 jobs and it's is the same price as aquawax alone (5 gallon), it seems like a no brainer

Incase you can't read all the info clearly:
Duragloss No Rinse Wash With Aquawax
No Rinse Wash & Shine concentrate is a quick and easy was to wash any vehicle. The polymers bond to the vehicle surface to leave a slick & glossy finish

    Directions:
    1. Add 1-2 oz. per gallon of water in a bucket.
    2. Wash surface using a microfiber or cotton mitt to one section at a time
    3. Dry each section with a high quality microfiber or cotton towel
    4. If surface dries before wiping , reapply as above

Note: Dirty surfaces may need a second application. To make a quick detailer, add 3 oz. of concentrate to 16 oz of water. Spray or wipe on one section at a time and remove using a microfiber or cotton towel.

    Color: Pink
Smell: Couldn't put my finger to it but it smelled like a berry bubblegum. Smells very good. This is all personal preference obviously.
Consistency: Similar to ONR, kind of "milky-like" in its full concentration.

Vehicle to test on: My mother's car has not been clean in quite some time. We have had rain, snow, salt, etc all since the last time it was washed so the test vehicle was DEFINITELY dirty.

In these first couple pictures its hard to tell truly how dirty it was but there will be some better 50/50, before and afters further down.

Filled a single bucket (w/ Grit Gaurd) up with 2.5 gallons of warm"ish" water. Added 2.5 oz (maybe a tad bit more) of 931 into the bucket.

I know some people like to use MF bones, some grout sponges with rinseless products. I like MF chenille mitts bc the "noodles" seem the get in all the tight areas such as the seams between panels, inside the mirror housing around the actual mirror, etc. I know this is a common complaint that people have with any sort of rinseless wash, so that's how I seem to get those areas. Here is my single mitt in the bucket of 931.

My large plush MF towel. I like using something larger because it allows more cushion when all folded up. When one side get saturated I flip, then I unfold, repeat. essentially this gives me 8 sides to work with.

Here i am wiping down the glass with the MF towel after I have washed the section with he MF mitt. As you can see, 931 looks pretty similar to ONR in that you can see the surface tension pulling away from the paint or glass..sort of sheeting affect.

Here is the towel after cleaning the rear window and the panel you see directly behind my hand. The towel is perfectly clean which is exactly what you want. If you pull your towel away and there is some dirt, you didn't clean the panel enough, sometimes a couple passes are necessary to flush the dirty away.

Here is a picture of a clean drivers door - lower panel compared to the dirty front fender. I like to wash a section at a time, but overlap a couple inches onto the next panel, just incase my towel happens to brush down further...better safe than sorry. I also typically save all the lower side skirts and areas behind the rear tires until last, this way I don't contaminate my mitt or towel and use it all over the rest of the car.

Here is a picture of my towel after doing the drivers side (half hood, half front bumpers, door, rear door, rear fender, all driver side windows, rear of the car not touched at all. As you can see, even with how dirty this car was 931 effectively cleaned the paint, and there was no dirt left behind to be wiped up by the towel, just clean 931 water. The towel may seem dirty, but I assure it it just looks darker because it is damp.

Here is where the fun begins.....

As with most cars, SUV's and hatchbacks especially the rear accumulates a ton of dirt. This is what we were working with:

    Rear glass

Rear glass again and underneath spoiler area

To be honest with everyone, I use this type of product everyday and I even thought to myself "hmmm, this will be interesting..."

    Some 50/50's

Left side dirty - right side cleaned

One side of mitt....I noticed that the mitt did not get as dirty/stained from the cleaning as my mitts usually do when using ONR. Anyone who uses ONR know that your mitt or sponge can get kinda scary looking.

    Other side

Remaining water in the bucket probably an inch or two above the Grit Gaurd

I used the left over 931 to test how well it could clean up the wheels. Here are the results. I'd say it did a pretty darn good job, but so does ONR. (on well taken care of wheels obviously, these products do have their limits)

    Front wheel

    Afters

No swirling from this process...there might be some there but that's because my dad insists on washing the car himself somtimes and as he says "what harm can he do?"....:bla2: trust me...I try to explain, it just doesn't get through..

    Conclusion/Comparisons

Smell - I don't favor smell of 931 or ONR, both are pleasant to me.
Ease of use - I'd have to say they are both about the same, both feel very slick with washing and at no point when using 931 did I feel "uncomfortable" because of a rough or "catching" feeling. Obviously, if you were one to use a spray wax after ONR, that is no longer necessary with 931.
Finish - 931 definitely made the paint feel slicker to the touch while dry, but it should, given it has the extra wax added into the product.
Dilutions/uses - ONR - Wash, clay lube, QD, interior wipe down, windows
    - 931 - Wash, QD, windows

I'd say ONR wins on versatility because I don't really know for sure if 931 can be used for clay lube. I'm guessing it can at some dilution but I don't how the wax left behind may interfere with what your next step. polish, paste/liquid waxes, or sealants.
    Price....Gallon ONR- 39.99 (@ DD)
5 Gallon ONR- I've actually never checked direct with Optimum about 5 gallon, maybe someone has that info.
Gallon 931- 27.70 (price from CS rep at Duragloss),
    5 Gallon 931- 109.73

Hope this helps! Hopefully I can answer any questions!

Great review - like the others I've read, very positive feedback thus far on the product. If they do release the gallon at that price, it's a no-brainer - this will take the place of ONR in my regular wash routine.

Keep up updated with the protection it leaves behind. I haven't tried this but Captain ONR says he mixed ONR with OPT spray wax, don't know if and how it works but sounds pretty cool

    Thanks guys, hope it helps.

Hamza, i actually tried something outside of the norm a couple weeks ago. I had a bucket of warm water seal with my bottle of 845 inside to warm it thoughout the day. The 845 cap did not fall off but some wax actually leaked out. It had me thinking. Can you mix in a liquid wax/sealant into ONR and basically build up the protection over a couple waxes and maintain it this way.

I eventually tried ONR with some Powerlock mixed in, it mixed nicely bc the warm water. When i wiped the car down with this mixture it cleaned just as well but on the first pass with my towel it left behind a hazing from the wax. Second towel to buff off the wax left behind and the remaining water like you would normally do and it definitely felt like a waxed car would the "conventional way".

I will be seeing this car again tomorrow so we will see if the powerlock bonded properly and it still on the car.

I've used 931 twice now and concur with all your findings. One area I noticed that it definitely performed better than ONR is that the dirt and grime seems to cling more to the microfiber wash media with ONR than 931. With 931, it seems to remain in the water. The end result is that the remaining water is dirtier with 931 but the microfiber was media is cleaner. I though that was a nice "tweak".

I apply powerlock with a QD strength mist of ONR.

    It seems to work well.

I'm always hesitatant to add anything to the wash water because of the anti-scratch properties that the no rinse washless products tout (encapsulating the dirt) etc. but I find sealants to be great to apply with a damp cloth to ensure even and thin coverage.

Is this with the latest version of ONR?

If the price from the cs rep is $27.7 per gallon, it is very good deal for rinseless wash.

I too enjoyed using this product. The beading of the wax protection is very good. I love ONR, but I may be using this more often if that gallon pricing is accurate. I'm also eager to try out Meg's no-rinse.
