Well had some daylight left earlier today to play with my new soap...

    so here we go....

    Scent:

Not that it does anything but still has the same pleasant citrus like cent that the original wash n gloss had

    Consistency:

Not as thick as CWG probably because of the lack of the separate glossing agent...but still very thick....barely a notch down in thickness but worth mentioning

    Dilution:

Dissolves better than the original...with original CWG you get the glossing agent "floaties"...which is not a bad thing...just a different property of the soap...In my foam gun I used my typical 2 ounces and in my bucket 1 ounce for 3 gallons of water..foamed up just as much as the original CWG...

    Cleaning ability:

WOW...can this stuff clean...mind you my car was just washed a week ago but I have to admit this stuff cut through grime very quick.... cutting through grime was effortless...a bird had left me a nice peppering trail across the hood of my car and just a quick swipe with my home depot grout sponge washed it right off....the pre-soak from my foam cannon really did all the work and emulsified/released most of the dirt and grime...my sponge was just really wiping it out of the way....definitely helpful when trying to reduce marring and light swirls...

    Lubricity:

Very slick shampoo...never felt "dry" or "grabby" as I washed...the paint always seemed well coated and didn't get dry and patchy like some other soaps do...hard to describe but anyone who has used a crappy car shampoo or use too low of a concentration might know what I am trying to describe...:eyebrow:

    Sudz:

definitely and endless amount of sudz that lasted the entire wash...its the same surfactant as CWG so no surprise here....:woot:

    Rinse:

Rinses "cleaner" than CWG obviously with the lack of glossing agent there is no "film" left behind...btw every now and again someone will complain that CWG doesn't rinse clean...just wanted to say that is a normal trait of CWG as this is the glossing agent being left behind that will buff to a nice shine...CWG is supposed to leave a film behind

    Overall:

Definitely another great soap from CG...it definitely dissolves in water much better than the original CWG..but thats because of the lack of a separate glossing agent like I have already mentioned...cleaning ability seems much stronger...but the layer of BLITZ I had on my car still seemed intact as water was still beading when the car was misted with water afterward and when flood rinsed the sheeting action remained as well.....might just be the strength of BLITZ holding up well...not sure yet but more testing to come!!!! :yippie::yippie:

PICS: only had time for 2

All loaded up in my foam cannon...as you can see it dissolves completely and really just looks like water in the canister

In case you had questions about it making foamy sudz...these are the sudz that still were around after foaming and bucket washing the car...

Question: If someone were looking to buy either the CWG or just the CW both for the 1st time which would you recomend?

    Thanks for the review.

    umm...BOTH...hahah :) ...

to be honest I am still up in the air as too which one I like more..I have been a big part in getting a LOT of people to use/try CWG...so I feel almost guilty even cheating on CWG.....I think overall you can't go wrong with either one...I think I still might lean more towards CWG if you are not the type who re-applies lsp after every wash as i like the way the glossing agent looks...otherwise if you always apply an lsp after a wash the CLEAR would be a better choice

I use CWG now, but want the clear. I don't see it on the CG site. Maybe I am just blind. :comfort:

From the CG gurus I've realized there are quite a few things that are not on the website and that the best way to put together an order is to call paul....

I called CG today, when I asked about the CW clear the gentleman said how did you know about that? :)

So I have a gallon coming for $18+shipping.

gm when paul asked me that question when i got some citrus blue wheel cleaner i said"i am awesome, thats how!"
    we both kinda laughed about.

sucks it is still 18 a gal cause without the glossing agent it must be cheaper to make. but it is still worth the money if it is as good as OrngeZ says it is.

Great review, appreciate you taking the time. From how you described using it, it sounds VERY similar to how currently my Citrus Wash n' Gloss acts. EXCELLENT!

it sounds like it really pulls off the wax? you mentioned re applying your lsp several times? is this normal for all washes or is this a little aggressive of a wash, would this be best for a pre-detail wash?

So this can't be used as a weekly wash? I use Citrus Wash and Gloss weekly, Pete's 53 on my hood and it's still beading, although not as well as when I first had it on. It's been maybe 6 or 8 weeks since I first put it on.. Also the Meg's 16 is beading. My car is always outside btw..
