Removing spent polish?

Hi all, hope March is starting off nice for all.

I'm doing an old respray single stage black paint.

Ran out of Menz SIP and had to pick up something local, so I got my hands on some Megs 83. It's pretty decent, not quite as good as SIP, but it works.

I'm using a PC with DD's Uber green pads cleaning them by washing them in warm water after each pass. Pads pick up the color of the paint. I spin them dry before moving on.

Temp is about 60 in the garage and humidity is "normal" (I don't have any instruments).

Anyway, things are going OKay, but like any DB Member, things could be a bit better.

I use a clean microfiber to remove the spent polish and then check my work. However, I was thinking that you do have to "buff" it off. That, on such a paint combo as I have tends to introduce marring. I've read here that some use a QD or IPA and then wipe off.

IPA is a little messy, it seems to dilute it, but it kindda leaves a hazy residue that needs to be buffed off itself. I'm just about to try OID (5:1) QD.

I am following with 106FF/blue Uber DD pad and that's money in the bank, but I still am "buffing" that off and that act just seems somewhat wrong.

    What do you pro's do?

what dilution ratio are you using on your IPA?

    A properly-diluted IPA should leave a haze.

50/50. But the haze will have to be removed, no?

Eh. We might be talking somewhat past each other. The haze seems to be a mixture of spent Megs 83 and IPA. Well, mostly diluted hazy 83 as the IPA will flash off.
