I was given a car by my mother and father in law when I moved out here, and it had obviously been neglected. When I've had time (which has only been once) I've been trying to work on getting it back to show room shine. The biggest thing that bothered me was the head lights being damaged. Knowing how they should look, I set my self to work at the first chance I got. Here are the results, enjoy. This is what I started with. 40-50% damage I would say, but they also had some minor pitting. The Process: -Wet sand with Meg 2000 Grit unigrit paper -Compounded with 3M Perfect-It Compound -Polished with 3M Perfect-It Machine Polish -Finished with 3M Perfect-It Ultrafine Polish -Sealed with Megs Detailer X-Press it wax (will be sealing with something better soon) The Results: A 50/50 shot One down, One to Go And at that point I figured I would give the young guy that works for us a chance to get behind the buffer and give head lights a shot. He had a slight bit of buffer experience, but managed to make one marred area on the bottom left edge of the passengers housing. Being that it was my car, I wasn't too upset as I wanted a better finish anyway. It will be addressed when I take care of the pitting. I'll be sure to post what they look like after readdressing the other issues.
