Today we have a red Toyota Rav4 that is scheduled for a simple wash and wax with an interior cleaning. I ended up having a little extra time so I decided to apply Prima Amigo to enhance the gloss, fill some swirls, and even remove a couple while it was at it. First the tools and products: Wheels and Tires Cleaned wheels with Sonax FE Wheel Cleaner and various brushes Cleaned tires with Zep Citrus Degreaser 4:1 Cleaned wheel wells with Zep Citrus 4:1 Dressed tires with Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Protectant Protected wheels with Collinite 845 Wash/Claying Entire vehicle foamed with Meguiars Gold Class car wash and 2oz of Zep Citrus Degreaser Lower panels cleaned of all tar with terminator Vehicle washed via 2BM w/ Griots Car Wash Dried with leaf blower and Pakshak WW towels Clayed with Mother OTC Clay bar with CG Luber for lube (duh) Paint cleaned/glazed with Prima Amigo on a Green Uber Pad on a PC All exterior trim protected with Ultima Trim and Tire Guard (easily the best trim product on the market, hands down) All exterior glass and mirrors buffed with Duragloss Nu Glass on an orange pad via PC Protection I tried something a little new (at least to me) with this. I was on a Prima kick today so I wanted to use Banana Gloss as my LSP. This is a great product that I don’t think gets the credit it deserves. It has great filling abilities (lets be honest, every detail can’t be a correction, and swirls are bound to happen even to the best of us sometimes) is super easy to use, slick as snot, and looks great. So I applied the Banana Gloss and let it haze. Before I buffed it off I decided to spray a little bit of Prima Hydro on the panel as I buffed both the Banana Gloss and additional Hydro off. It could all be in my head, but I swear this kicked up the gloss level a good bit, over just Banana Gloss alone. I suppose it could just be in my head, so I emailed Prima to see how well their products play together, and what they thought of this method. I will update this thread when I hear back. Interior All plastic cleaned with Detailers Pride Interior Cleaner All leather cleaned with Power Clean 3:1 All plastic dressed with Detailers Pride interior Protectant Leather conditioned with Griots Leather Spray Glass Cleaned with Meguiars glass cleaner Carpet vacuumed, then stains cleaned with Stoners Carpet cleaner Vents and other hard to reach areas dressed with Adams In and Out Spray Now on to the pics!!! Wheels first, before While the Sonax does its thing And finally all cleaned up Couple before shots of the exterior. It was pretty dirty, and also had some tar build up on most of the lower panels. Most of the trim was in pretty rough shape, but nothing that couldn’t be taken care of! I didn’t get any close ups after, but you can see the difference in most of the full after pictures. And here is what we are left with I know there is a spot on the front tire missing dressing. I fixed this before the customer picked it up. Just missed it before taking pics. I removed the spare to not only clean behind it, but also to clean the wheel and tire, as well as dress the tire just like the other four. Now for the interior. At first glance it looked pretty bad, however after knowing what kids can do to interiors, it really wasn’t all that bad. Befores Interior Afters I think that about does it. Thanks for looking!!!
Awesome work the red is looking amazing, BG is nice just not the best durability, Epic has good dureability
Thanks buddy!! I agree! Thank you! I have been using this combo alot lately with wash and waxes with great results. Thanks Sal. I'm doing a little test on my car to see how long the BG lasts. How long have you seen it last?
looks great, i always wanted to try bg but always hesitated because of the durability, but have heard great reviews on looks and ease of application, I thought there was no hazing, I thought it was a wowo type of thing, may be confused with something else though.
Looks great. The Prima line will not disappoint. BG might not have the durability of other lsp's out there but it's ease of use and looks make up for it. It is a "WOWO" type but it doesn't hurt to leave it on. You can apply it to the whole car then buff off.
