Ben threw this one in as a freebie with my order of his awesome towels some weeks ago (thanks Ben!). I had not used it since my favorite wash medium in the last 2 years has been the Proline GS. Today, I decided to give it a try. I was kind of nervous since every single wool mitt I have tried has marred my super soft Lexus cc (and I have tried many). To my surprise, I absolutely ended up loving this thing. It holds and spreads tons of suds and it is super soft and thick. This is the softest and thickest wool mitt I have ever tried. I inspected my car very carefully after I washed and dried and not a single swirl mark. This thing is so thick that all the grime just gets lost deep in there. Here are some pics. That's a quarter in there. :headbang:

I am definitely using this as much as my GS. This mitt has restored my faith in wool mitts. I highly recommend it. I believe it's this one here: Lambswool Wash Mitt

Oh, one more thing, this thing is huge! :thud:

Oh, never mind the date on those pics, I guess my 6 year old has been messing with my cam, haha!

Damn so many mitts out these days. Still addicted to my Uber sheepskin. Have you ever tried that one? I don't think it mars my soft BMW Jet Black paint. I could do some more tests though. I am scared to use the proline on my paint though it seems sorta rough for a sponge (compared to zymol).

I just bought that same one and really like it.. I also bought the merino one but haven't tried it. The only thing negative I can say about it is that after I use it I smell like a sheep for a day or two...

I've got 2 of those new sitting in my garage. Also to be tried out,, But my go to mitt has always been my Harley-Davidson Synthetic sheepskin. It has longer fibers and in 10 years of using it, I can honestly say I've never seen wash induced swirls. So with 10 years of proof behind me, how can I ever try a sponge. Just the thought makes me cringe.

I'm trying like heck to get Dodo's wookie mitt. It looks to be longer strands of the fibers, which should even be better. But silly me has purchased a micro-fiber chenille mitt. I might have to give that a go, just for testing porpoises.

Yes I have. I like this one better.

I was looking at those. They are more expensive, so I wonder if they are even better. I'll have to ask Ben how they are different. Yeah, and if you are using a boar's hair brush, forget it, the ladies won't come close to you for a while. Those things smell of wet dog.

Dodo Juice... their out right of stock now, but pictures of it. look like what i want.

I Don't actually want a mitt really. I want long fibers like from a sheepskin, but sown around a sponge,.. that constant taking a mitt off and wringing it out and re-sudzing it up again is a pain, Plus with a mitt on, your only using half of it and can't turn it after a swipe and use the other side. . With no thumb, you can swoosh it around on your wrist a little to present a new face to the paint. But I get anal on washing and want to wring out the mitt after on the car, then in my rinse bucket, then in my wash bucket, so I never end up putting a mitt on.

Oh it is. This is coming from someone who gave up on wool mitts for 2 whole years because of marring. I absolutely trust this one. :thumb:

Are there any special steps that need to be taken when cleaning a lambswool mitt?

I just throw em in the machine w/ MF soap. and then dry on super low or just hang dry

Hmm, looks almost like Patrick's Pure Australian Heavy Sheepskin Washmitt but then again almost all sheepskin wool mitts look alike right? I always had a problem with sheepskin wool mitts linting on me but I suppose that's the territory that goes along with it. I find that the Proline GS seems to last longer than my sheepskin wool mitts.

I don't know, maybe I'll give my sheepskin wool mitts a shot again (I still have some sitting in my plastic drawers brand new) and see what I think of them. However, I did finally get a chance to test out the Zymol sponge (thanks Ken!) and I'm pretty impressed after using it the first time. I think I almost want to say that I like it better than the Proline GS but only time will tell after several uses to evaluate its longevity.

I'm glad you were suitably impressed. :)

Merinos wool is considered the best, softest wool there is, so Merinos wool is more expensive for one. So the simple price explanation is they cost my to buy in. :) But also the wool is considered to be better quality.

The Merinos mitts are also more consistent than the cheaper ones. In that what I mean is the cheaper mitts come in all sorts of colours black, green, blue, red, grey, cream and sometimes the wool can be slightly different textures so I can't guarantee what combination of colours I will get. The Merinos ones are pretty much identical every time.

Once you get a bit of nice smelling shampoo in them they smell a bit sweeter. :giggle:

I always just rinse mine out under a tap and then leave to dry naturally. I've got mitts that are coming up for two years old, so it works for me.

They are different to that Denzil, I do have some with a thumb that look similar but the one Luis has reviewed is made in the UK, and has no thumb and is also massive.

I would say the Merinos, however it's quite close. :)

Darn! Now I have to order a couple of those. The exchange rate sucks though. The dollar is worth nothing nowadays. Thanks Ben!

After reading this thread I decided to give the one I got with my BH kit a go this morning. Love it. Ben,the one I got is black. What kind of mitt is it? I wasn't really paying attention to it when I bought the kit.
