Well last week I bought my new Range Rover Sport its java black and nearly 2 years old. Project name:! THE TANK!!!! I am sending it to the body shop to get colour coded and the wheels refurbed so I decided to start things off by stripping all the old wax and what seams to be wither supergard or something similar I found the paint to have a certain amount of elasticity!!! No point in doing full correction until it returns! but in the mean time to keep it looking nice: Methods used: soaped in Chemical Guys orange degreaser and rinsed. Resoaked and left to dwell for 15 mins. power hosed and resoaked in snow foam and washed using the 2 bucket method. I then soaked the car in Elite (Belfast) tar remover hosed off and then reapplied using a foam pad The car was then clayed using megs grey clay and QD as a lube. Then I used a 50:50 IPAistilled water mix and wiped the whole car over. I then re-applied snow foam to the tank and rewashed using the two bucket method. In the mean time I applied one coat of Chemical Guys wet mirror finish and topped off with Zaino Z8!!! This removed all the crud and contaminants form the paint and left it silky smooth ready to go into the body shop for colour coding. Once it comes back there is some serious swirl busting needed plus the tints are to be removed and proper Pentagon tints reapplied! Total time so far 7 hours!! Befores: Afters:
OMGosh that thing was sick!!! I can't imagine taking 7 hrs to wash something. what did u use to clean the rims and dress the tires with?
