Most Porschephiles know that the first turbocharged 911 was launched in 1974 with a 3.0-liter engine that produced 260 horsepower. First 911 Turbo S model was introduced years later in 1993. Limited to just 86 units, 911 Turbo S(Type 964) featured a 3.3-liter flat six engine that produced an impressive 380 hp. In 1997 Porsche introduced a 911 Turbo S(Type 993) with a 3.6-liter flat six engine that produced 450 horsepower. Type 993 Turbo S was the last air-cooled 911 Turbo. In 2004 Porsche introduced a 911 Turbo S(Type 996) with a 3.6-liter flat six engine that produced 450 horsepower. It is the only 911 Turbo S that did not offer more power compared to the previous version. Now in 2010 we are getting a type 997 model with an impressive 530 horsepower from a 3.8-liter flat six engine. 0-100 km/h comes in just 3.3 seconds(0.1 seconds faster than the regular 911 Turbo and reaches a top speed of 315 km/h(195 mph).
