my mom was asking to wash her car for long time. today after changing oil in my car and preping dads car for inspection i had about 2.5 hours to clean it. had to drive to pick car up from uncles house where my mom leaves it to get on train. keep in mind i didnt do any paint correction couse only had 2.5 hours tools used Meguiars gold glass shampoo 2 yellow pads with Menzerna APO60 Swisswax wheel brush Menzerna 203 with yellow pad 1000 and 2000 grid sand paper (for headlights) Plastic X Opti-bond for rubber trim rubbing alcohol Collonite 845 sealants and Menzerna FJM sealant maybe others stuff first i washed it with Meguiars gold glass (i think thats what its called) even after that car looked dirty i have a feeling its single stage paint because i went over with my paint meter and readings were 64-79microns on most of the car. go figure before pics before after before after before after scuff on front bumper driver side before after headlights before after wetsand with 1000 and 2000 grip sand paper after 203 with yellow pad and plasticX with orange (sealed with 845) right headlight done. left is before anything is done both cleaned 50/50 of hood left side is reflection of house and sky and right side is what it was before kinda 50/50 of roof to give you idea what rest of the car looked like right side is after apo60 other 2/3 of roof is not done finished pics beading after APO60 roof i know i can do better. just didnt had enough time for full out paint correction but when my mom came home she said she almost though that it was not her car after first it was so clean (i didnt tell her i was gona wash the car today)
posted more pics. still need to clean engine bay. cleaned my dads cr-v engine yesterday, looks a lot better yeah we are honda family (civic, accord, cr-v, metropolitan(scooter) ) so can anybody confirm that this year civic is single stage paint?
It's a single stage paint ... actually I believe all white hondas (including the 09s) are single stage.
i actualy text my friend who works for honda. he said all new hondas have clear coat. we had 04 accord sedan white and i think it had clear coat couse it started failing on the door. but yeah i heard about single stage white on hondas if i get a change ill measure paint on new white hondas
I saw a few details on Autopia by a reputable detailer in TX (scottwax) where he was complaining that even the 09's white hondas still had single staged paints. let me know what you find out ... I'm really interested in knowing too ...
all other pics uploaded. headlights are done. still have to take pic of engine after cleanning but thats minor thing
