    Phil, is the red (or blue) dressing applicators safe for paint? I am not talking about the thinner red or yellow flying saucer shaped ones.

    Not Phil, but the red ones are safe on paint...blue ones are more course and could mar the paint and should be used for cleaning leather, vinyl, or applying dressing.

    Red = Paint Safe
    Blue = Not Paint Safe

    What I am really looking for is a low profile applicator (max 1-in thickness) to get into wheel wells. Most tire applicators are just a tad too thick. I was thinking of cutting something like the yber one in half and then gluing it to a thin stiff plastic piece.

    maybe ill just order 4" pad and use it for wax

    If you are talking about the uber pads then black is for wax, if you are talking about the notched applicators then red is for wax. Now if you are talking about LC pads, both blue and red are for wax...confused yet?

    I was experimenting going the other way. I have a 4-in pad holder (called a polishing pal) that has a velcro bottom that can be used with 4-in and 5-in polishing pads. I have 4-in foam cyclo pads (similar scheme as Uber pads) but wanted to try a notched type.

    I could get the black ubersbut I know there is a softer white variety (cyclo has one) as well which I have used. It soaks up wax like a sponge.
