I've seen many write ups with people getting in tight areas with a brush (like a SwissVax wheel brush and detail brush). Tight areas like door shuts and jamb and around the key hole.

The question I have was is it safe to use without marring?

I always thought using a brush is a no-no. However, maybe it is okay since a full-polish comes after.

Also, what brushes are people using to ensure no marring occurs?

On a side note, how does the SV Wheel brush differ from the detail brush? I have the wheel brush, but if I had the detail brush, could I confuse the two on accident? Or are the bristles noticeable softer on the detail brush?

I use the SV brush for those areas. Mine is the wheel brush and I just flush it out really well after using on wheels before touching the painted areas and I have never had a problem.

If you get the interior brush you can just use a sharpie or a colored tape to distinguish between the two.

The wheel brush is larger diameter and the hairs are slightly longer too. It is easy to tell apart from the detail brush.

I haven't noticed marring from my SV brushes when I use them in jambs or other painted areas. As long as you are using copious amounts of cleaner to provide lubrication and loosen the dirt you should be fine. Also, have a bucket of water handy that you can frequently dip the brush in and agitate to get the dirt out of it.

+1 No marring from the SV brushes or Raceglaze.

Excatly, and the two SV brushed are the same, just that the wheel brush is a bigger diameter.

side note is that RG brushes arent as packed together so if u want something more bunched up, SV brushes are your best bet
