I got my first makita and when i was using it, it seems to bounce/ skip around edges and curves. Am i doing something wrong? also what speed do you usually work with it?

    Thanks

What pads are you using? Speed depends on what polish you're using and what you're doing. For a beginner, Id stay below 1500.

Sounds like you are using a foam pad with to little product and not using a smooth pass.

yes foam pads. Menzerna and 3m polishes. I was just playing around with it. Ill try more product and smooth passes. Thanks

I would suggest getting a wool pad to play with, they are alot easier to work with and this will help you get the feel for the rotary better.

It sounds like your pad is drying up on you. I would suggest the PFW pad and I usually start at speed 1 (700rpm) on the Metabo and go to 3 (1500rpm) and back down to 1.
