I've just had it with trying to depend on straight carnauba to protect my hood, roof, and trunk lid from rain, pollen, and tree drop globs.

I can't always garage my car, but I can most of the time.

I really am also sick of the haze the I and asphalt Rocket have been experiencing with Mystery on our hoods. SO....

I stripped the wax off my hood tonight by going at it with SV cleaner fluid(again), then going PO85rd (again), then applied Menzerna FMJ sealant and am letting it sit overnight(first time my car has seen FMJ)

now, my question is...can I go right over the FMJ with Swissvax? Or will it react weird?

anyone have experience with this operation? Should I just stay FMJ until it gets cooler outside and the haze stops appearing from the heat?

I have found that FMJ has terrible durability. You may want to consider Zaino or Klasse instead.

I have topped Zaino with SV with no ill effects.

I layered Smargd over Jetseal109 on several ocasions. Those cars live outside, and the beading is still going good 6 weeks later.

I've put Lusso Oro over FMJ, and didn't have any issues.

    <shrugh> Hope that helps a little. :)

Last year before I was using DG products, I was using up my FMJ and would top it with collinite for good protection. It looked great and gave decent protection (not from the FMJ, LOL).

once FMJ cured for 12-24 hours, go ahead and layer Swissvax.

FMJ is pathetic... it only lasted on my car for like 2 weeks before i cant feel anything..

stick to swissvax... or go for zaino...

dont layer them... coz u wont maximise the swissvax effect...

    Want to sell the Mystery?

Did you try pouring ice cold water on the hood?

Don't layer it if you want it to look good.

If you want something with durability get Einszett Glanz Wax.

I have been using FMJ on clients cars for the last year and have had no problem getting 4 months out of a single application. I always clay before applying the FMJ and use a quality soap like P21S or Werkstat to maintain the vehicles on a weekly basis. If you are using a prewax cleaner, make sure it is compatible with sealants. Prewax cleaners meant for carnauba based lsps will affect the longevity of synthetic sealants.

Same here on the durability of FMJ. Last fall it was my go-to sealant and I still use it time to time. It's extremely easy on/off, and the slickness is top notch. To each their own though.
